Hi Jai, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
PawGone Good, an inventive organic dog treat venture, was founded by me, Jerrica Fletcher. My journey began with my resilient companion, Bausyss, who overcame significant health challenges. This experience revealed a gap in pet nutrition awareness and ignited my passion for creating balanced, nutritious pet treats.

Taking all of my research into account, our mission and principles were easily formed, marking the start of PawGone Good. Our core principles—animal rights, health and wellness, transformation, and innovation—are central to our holistic approach to pet care.

1. Animal Rights: We prioritize the ethical treatment of all animals, ensuring that our processes and products support animal welfare.
2. Health and Wellness: Our treats are crafted to promote overall pet health, addressing issues such as oral care and nutrition with natural, organic ingredients.
3. Transformation: We aim to revolutionize the pet treat industry by introducing innovative products that set new standards for pet nutrition.
4. Innovation: Our Pawlicious Treats are the first of their kind, combining meat, fruits, and vegetables into every chip to provide a balanced diet.

Our treat line, Pawlicious Treats, represents an innovative and challenging venture. As one of the first companies to create healthy chips for dogs that incorporate the five essential food groups, we address common issues associated with oral care neglect. We prioritize natural, organic ingredients with clear health benefits, sourced locally to support farmers.

Moreover, I’m committed to addressing underrepresentation in the industry. Beyond profits, PawGone Good is dedicated to educating and transforming the pet industry. We have a DEI initiative focused on serving, sourcing, and informing diverse audiences. We start with our youth, highlighting the many exciting opportunities available in the pet industry, from entry-level to executive roles, entrepreneurial paths, and local initiatives to support or volunteer. We also emphasize the health benefits of human-grade foods and representation.

PawGone Good aims to inspire individuals from all backgrounds through community outreach and nurturing young entrepreneurs. This journey honors my family values and underscores our mission to educate, empower, and include, making a meaningful impact in the pet treat industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey of PawGone Good has certainly not been without its challenges. One of the main issues we’ve faced is marketability to our customers, website conversions, and manufacturing.

With such a unique product, finding manufacturers capable of binding, mixing, and molding our recipe formulas into chips has been difficult. The specialized machinery and the need for premium organic ingredients make the production process complex and expensive. The costs add up quickly when you consider research and development, actual production, co-packing/fulfillment, and drop shipping.

This ties into our second challenge of marketability. Establishing the right distribution channels and connecting with customers has been tough due to the limited number of independent pet stores locally. Additionally, our treats are typically more expensive, making it crucial to find the right customers who are willing to invest in high-quality, organic pet treats.

Lastly, creating enough engaging content on social media to drive people to our website and convert visitors into customers has been a struggle. Building an online presence that effectively communicates our brand’s unique value and attracts our target audience is an ongoing challenge that we are continually working to overcome.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Throughout my career, I have specialized in various strategic roles across multiple industries, including sales, demand planning, global strategy, and food service manufacturing. One of the most transformative experiences in my career was spearheading a global campaign for McDonald’s, where I introduced the very first limited-time offer centered around their beloved and world-renowned fries. Being such an instrumental part of that launch was a game-changer and significantly boosted my confidence.

I am known for my expertise in creating go-to-market strategies, launching innovative products, and fostering strong partnerships. These skills have been honed over a decade of working in high-impact roles, such as a Trade Strategy Sales Manager for Kellogg and a Global Strategy Consultant for Lamb Weston, where I led initiatives that generated substantial revenue and market optimization.

What I am most proud of is my ability to leverage all the tools and knowledge from my previous work experiences to start my own company. By the age of 33, I had accomplished numerous milestones and felt ready to become the kind of leader I had always needed in the workforce. I aspired to inspire and guide my team to reach new heights, creating an environment of growth and innovation.

What sets me apart is my holistic approach to business, balancing profitability with purpose. My background also allows me to see the bigger picture and drive meaningful impact. My commitment to education, empowerment, and inclusion is evident in my community outreach efforts, where I aim to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Overall, my journey has been defined by a passion for transformation and a dedication to making a meaningful impact in every role I undertake.
