Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Peruci.
Hi Eric, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started tattooing over ten years ago in Brazil, where I built my foundation as an artist through dedication, discipline, and a constant desire to improve. From the beginning, tattooing was never just a job for me — it was a craft, a responsibility, and a way to tell stories through art.
Over the years, I focused on developing a strong technical base while also refining my own artistic voice. That journey led me to participate in tattoo conventions and competitions, where my work was recognized with awards, both in Brazil and later in the United States.
Moving to the U.S. was a major step in my personal and professional life. Starting over in a new country came with challenges — a new culture, a new language, and the need to rebuild my client base from scratch. But it also pushed me to grow, adapt, and become even more intentional about my work.
Today, I work as a tattoo artist in Northeast Ohio, where I continue to focus on custom, meaningful pieces and long-term projects. I value consistency, trust, and the relationship built with each client. Every tattoo I create is treated as something lasting — both on the skin and in the story behind it.
Looking back, the path hasn’t been easy, but it’s been honest. I’m grateful for the journey so far and motivated to keep evolving, learning, and contributing through my work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was moving to a new country and rebuilding my career from the ground up. Adapting to a different culture, understanding a new market, and earning trust in a place where people didn’t know my work required patience and consistency.
There was also a learning curve in adjusting to different expectations, workflows, and communication styles within the industry. Those challenges pushed me to become more organized, more disciplined, and more intentional about every aspect of my work.
Looking back, those obstacles played an important role in my growth. They helped shape not only the way I approach tattooing today, but also how I approach responsibility, professionalism, and long-term goals.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as a tattoo artist with a strong focus on black and grey, custom, large-scale pieces that require planning and a long-term vision. My work is centered on projects that rely on contrast, depth, and composition, rather than short-term trends.
While my primary focus is on larger projects, I occasionally take on more delicate or minimal work when it aligns with my style. That allows me to apply the same level of control, precision, and intention on a smaller scale without shifting away from my core aesthetic.
A consistent element in my work is a darker tonal range and atmosphere. Even when working with religious or more traditional subjects, I naturally gravitate toward deeper contrasts and a more dramatic mood. Over time, that approach has become a defining part of my visual language.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients over the years. Many return for multiple projects, which I see as a reflection of consistency, professionalism, and respect for the craft.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One thing that often surprises people is that, despite the darker and more dramatic tone of my work, my personal approach is grounded in faith, patience, and intention. My beliefs shape the way I carry myself, how I treat people, and how seriously I take the responsibility of my work.
Behind the scenes, I’m very careful and disciplined. I take my time, focus on details, and try to approach each project with respect — not only for the craft, but for the person trusting me with something permanent.
Even when working with heavier or darker imagery, I’m always mindful of balance. I believe there is value in showing that depth and contrast can still carry meaning, growth, and purpose. That perspective quietly influences the way I work more than most people might expect.
