Check Out Emily LaCivita’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily LaCivita.

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As owner & Head Creative behind Electric Love – Event Styling & Coordination, it’s been a dream turned reality to launch my business. Growing up outside of the city and moving here for college, I fell in love with the growing culture and vibrancy that Cincinnati has to offer and I consider the Queen City my one true home. I’ve always had a deep passion for human connection and storytelling so event planning became my way to play a part in telling so many love stories. My background experience in event sales, detailing and day-of coordination at several Cincinnati-based wedding and event venues ultimately prepared me for this journey of making something all my own. Electric Love was born from my desire for connecting couples to their dream vendor team while holding true to each client’s unique vision for their day. Whether it’s a little extra guidance you need to take the edge off or full-service design and execution, together with my couples, we create experiences that go far beyond just a one-day event.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing worth fighting for comes easy, but the road I’m on now has been a long time coming. Building a brand amidst a global pandemic was an obvious obstacle for the event industry as a whole and small business owners were at the center of those affected. So naturally, this was a scary leap of faith, but in the end, there will always be reasons to postponed goals in life and I was finally ready to give myself the space to pursue something that meant more to me than just a job. For me personally, I’ve always believed passion plays a big role in success. It’s so easy to get burnt out and give up on yourself but the drive to continue doing what I love and grow something of my own has kept me motivated throughout the years, as well as having a great community of other industry creatives and of course the most supportive friends & family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I feel my previous experience working at several Wedding Venues in the city has given me an edge that helps my clients cover all the gaps that can come with a large-scale event. It gives me a greater perspective for overall logistics so that my couples feel confident knowing someone with that knowledge is dedicated to them on their day. My brand represents a generation of both diversity and the ability to think outside of the traditional box when it comes to all the details of wedding planning. I find the most important piece of the day is personalized touches that are representative of the couples’ lifestyle and I specialize in creating custom designs that showcase each couple’s uniqueness. This approach allows couples to feel deeply connected to the experience of their day rather than just going through the motions. “Curated events for the modern couple” is my motto and pairs well with any design style with my favorites being: Moody Modern, Bohemian Luxe, and Classic Glam.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a social being by nature who thrives when interacting with others. Growing up I was the bubbly jokester among my friends and I’ve kept this intact even in pursuing a career. As well as being the oldest child in my family, I’m very protective and passionate about being an advocate for all walks of life. When your job is for people to trust you with something so special and important to them, I think personality goes a long way. Being a professional, it is not always considered best to show too much of your personality but I make this a priority for my business. I want to foster real relationships with my clients and for all to feel welcomes by me, after all, I play a role in something so intimate in their lives that they should feel that I am the perfect fit for them. Outside of work life, I enjoy all the social activities that Cincinnati has to offer, such as live music performances and so many unique to our city restaurants while aspiring to make more time to travel and experience other cultures.
