Today we’d like to introduce you to Devon Blythe.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been in the wellness industry for 11 years. I always knew I wanted to help others improve the quality of their lives from a young age. As I got older, I was more drawn to holistic medicine and went to the University of Cincinnati to acquire my undergraduate education in pre-medicine. At the same time, I went to school for medical massage because I wanted to get into the healing field sooner than later and I knew becoming a doctor was going to take a while.
Soon after, I started working as a massage therapist and began applying to Naturopathic schools out west. I choose a school in Oregon and was planning to move out west summer of 2018 when I began to go through a massive inner journey and transformation myself. I began to see the world differently and see how our inner world and minds largely influence our physical health and quality of our life. From here, I decided not to go to an ND school but instead pursue a career in Mind-Body Medicine.
I began practicing Mind-Body Medicine, which quickly led into transformational coaching. I found a link between healing the somatic body and reprogramming the mind, and how if you combine the two, your potential to heal, enhance your happiness, and reach your goals was massively increased.
From here, I trained as a professional coach and acquired a number of other specialty certifications; which has led me down the path of a wellness entrepreneur helping others overcome their inner blocks to create the change they want to see and further be.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Starting a business in and of itself is a challenge let alone creating a method and process that was leading edge. It has taken a lot of personal growth, learning and development on my end to become the version of myself that I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a mind-body medical practitioner and personal and professional coach. I specialize in helping others remove blocks in 3 main categories:
-Stress management and personal empowerment work
-Enhancing happiness and improving well-being
-Goal acceleration
I have developed a method called Integrative Dialogue Facilitation that works on 5 levels of the self to create full transformation and progress from the inside out. IDF was built off of the basis that you can not just focus on behavior modification or mindset work to see long lasting results. You need to incorporate the mental, emotional, behavioral, somatic and unconscious aspects of self in order to make sure you are really cultivating deep, long lasting change.
In my years of practice, I have seen so many incredible people heal and improve their lives. I feel very honored and very grateful to be in the field I am in and do this kind of work.
My work is very unique to me. It’s an expression and representation of things I have personally overcome, coupled with the themes I have seen my clients encounter. I specifically tailor customized sessions and containers for my client’s needs and wants and create a step-by-step plan to help them achieve their goals.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Take time to reflect and create as much clarity upfront as possible. Try to gain awareness of what is holding you back and keeping you stuck. Take action to resolve your inner and outer blocks sooner than later, as the longer you avoid a block, the longer it will hold you back.
I think even more important than that is to continue showing up and doing your own work. Life is a reflection of what is going on internally, and it is vital that you commit to removing the inner blocks so that you can continue to grow and evolve.
