Today we’d like to introduce you to Camden Yacobucci
Hi Camden, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Camden Yacobucci. To be honest I owe everything I have been blessed with to God. I never really know where I am going but does anyone really? I am an up-and-coming artist whose journey to music is a mix of persistence, versatility, and evolution. Coming from Akron, Ohio, I moved to Brooklyn, New York, to study Criminal Justice at St. Francis College. However, my passion for music was undeniable, and in 2018, I dropped out of college to pursue a career in music full-time.
Starting at 17, I began recording my music, initially focusing on rap. I released my first mixtape, Strong Static, but over time, I expanded my style. My music blends alternative pop, pop-punk, and elements of other genres, showing growth as an artist who isn’t confined to one sound.
Eventually, I moved to Los Angeles to further my career, working hard to build my following and get my music out there. I soon came to realize that Los Angeles was an over saturated place where everyone is fighting for the most attention. Thankfully that is where I truly found a relationship with God and was pulled to Columbus, Ohio to try again.
Ever since I moved back to Ohio my journey has moved faster than the last four years in LA combined. We played two U.S. tours and many one off shows as well as building a partnership with the MLS soccer team the Columbus Crew bringing local talent to professional sports.
I am so blessed everyday to continue to strive to do many more great things but at the end of the day I make music for the outcasts, the weird kids who feel unseen. I want to use this platform and with the help from God, do my part to make a change for the greater good however that may be!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This has been one of the hardest most beautiful things I have ever done. I try to be scared of what’s comfortable. Being comfortable to me means that you are not growing and moving forward.
I try my best to always keep a positive mindset because my biggest lessons and opportunities have come from the hardest challenges in my life! Once you give that worry to God, you will start to see the doors open you were blind to see from your own thoughts blocking the view.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music, clothes, videos, and really anything creative and helpful I can. I try to continue to learn more and try new things so I am not just stuck saying I only make music and thats it.
I have been able to use things I have learned from doing music to bring it to other career fields and tasks. Such as booking talent and filming videos and editing. These aren’t necessarily me creating music but from doing them for my own career I am able to learn and help others in theirs.
I would say I am most proud of the way I perform. Ever since I was a kid I would watch people like “Twenty-One Pilots”, “mgk”, “Travis Scott”, and many more perform. I would picture myself in their shoes. How would I run the show? How would I interact with the crowd? I am all about putting on a show and with my band I can definitely say we give fans something to remember!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
It is NOT a race!!! Don’t feel like you are falling behind or compare yourself to other peoples journey. Focus on you and your path while trusting God and I promise you will be exactly where you need to be.
This life is not about the money, or fame, or status. Those are temporary satisfactions. Focus on the things that last, the things that bring you never ending joy and peace. That will protect your mind and improve the way you look at life.
