Check Out Caleb Copeland’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Copeland.

Hi Caleb, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I grew up hunting and playing baseball. It is the only two things I knew growing up. I did not care about anything else other than those two things. The plan was when I “grew up” was to get a job doing one of those two things. Honestly, they were the only two things I was any good at. As fate would have it a series idea pitched to the right people got me a job right after my college baseball career producing hunting shows, so in a way, I got the best of both worlds. I got to fulfill most of my dream by playing college baseball as well as now go on to filming hunts all over the world. Not a bag gig.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a learning experience for sure. I have learned a lot of what not to do in business from my last 11 years in this game. Some of the best people, but also a couple of the worst people I know, are from this world. I will say more on the good side than the bad. Egos are a killer in this business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in telling outdoor adventure stories. That is our passion, and I learned a long time ago to follow passion, not money, and the money will come. Most of what we do is on the hunting side, but at the core of what we do is try and tell stories and push ourselves to tell better ones.

What does success mean to you?
When you go to work, and it doesn’t feel like work. When you get a check in for a job, and you cannot believe you just got paid to do that.
