Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Turner
Hi Anthony, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been doing video editing ten plus years. I got it from when I was a music artist. Someone told me they needed music videos and I stepped up to the plate. After that, I realized that I was able to tell my nerd stories on film! So I gave up music and went 100% nerd lol.
Years later, TikTok came out and I learned about cosplayers! People that enjoyed the nerd stuff as I do! Ever since then, I created piece by piece, a cosplay universe!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not! Dreams and reality clash on a daily basis. Making decisions on which can be allowed to come first is difficult. In the journey of my dreams, I lost a lot people that I thought was on my side forever.
The lost of my son, and also finding my other son wasn’t mine also crippled me. But I never gave up! I believe in chasing your dreams fully! It’s the only way that makes me feel alive!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a director and video producer. I create short films and clips of cosplayers and blerds, to bring there imagination to life! Pretty soon we will be creating long length movies for cosplayers as well!
I’m known for my special effects for any cosplayer I come across. Also known for marioverse series, at lovers end (horror series), and black Adam series!
I’m most proud of the journey! I’ve met the ups and downs time and time again. But I never give up for my our community (blerds) I’m proud to film, I’m proud to keep entertaining!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I personally never really had a mentor, I took certain people’s advice and modified it to keep me moving forward. I would honestly say, keep your circle tight, and make sure who’s ever in that circle, that they 100% believe in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself at the time!
