Today we’d like to introduce you to Angell Carpenter.
Hi Angell, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started off as a background actress in 2015 and was networking at a show in California when I met Faces of Rap Mothers at Comedycella. They invited me to be a social worker in the movie/ comedy/ drama series. Then as I was networking, I met the People’s Network and became “Sheila Barnes” in their Tubi Thriller, the Private Secretary, and then police in a cameo appearance on Vegas Vixens. Since then, I’ve performed on Grey’s Anatomy, HBO Hacks seasons 4 and 5, Matlock 2, Venom 2, and a few game shows. Out of Options is my most recent release, and Shadows in the Sun with Danny Trejo should be next. But it was my Justice court tv show episode that had 1 million views on Facebook, in 10 days of release! RECENTLY Taft Harley in on Vegas; A Love Story. I stay busy by auditioning for more roles. I practice foreign accents in my spare time and try to refresh my acting skills at least once per year. I currently travel between Hollywood and Las Vegas for various shows to participate in.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Fake friends was my absolute biggest obstacle. I had a boyfriend who was very jealous and broke my face and foot to keep me from progressing into better roles. Overcoming theft of personal items and false allegations, occasionally hindered me, but not nearly as much as dealing with a broken foot did. Now, I keep my circle even smaller, just to avoid unnecessary dramas. I may book a dating show in the future, but for now I’m happy with living myself and spoiling myself. I refuse to date anybody until I am situated in my career where I want to be positioned at.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Actress, singer, musician, tattoo artist, ex legal Secretary, ex bounty hunter/ bail bondsman, multi-talented, multi-cultural, and currently Las Vegas bartender, but always learning new skills to enhance my pathways to success.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I use various apps to find acting gigs, but I use YouTube videos to learn new/ practice my foreign accents. I speak English, Spanish, and French, but considering learning Italian next. In the meantime, I am working on a new music album, in between my already busy schedule.
