Check Out Andrea Washburn’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Washburn.

Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I, Andrea Washburn am a mother, wife, daughter, twin, entrepreneur, businesswoman, and Boss Lady!! I am the proud owner of Andrea Washburn Decor and Events LLC, providing wedding and all event planning services for Columbus Ohio, and surrounding areas.

With over 5 years of experience in the event planning industry. I have done events for powerful 5-star companies, churches, and hospitals. My work has been recognized amongst my college, my former colleagues, friends, family, and the church community. I and my design-savvy, passionate team excel at interpreting visions and ideas, seamlessly bringing them to life, and making sure every detail is taken care of.

When I became a teen mother there were moments I felt like I would never amount to anything, I was even told that by an aunt of mine. After forgiving myself, and realizing my worth I was determined to not be just another statistic. By the time I graduated high I had two children. At age of 18, I married my high school sweetheart, together we are raising four beautiful children.

After being a stay-at-home mom for several years, I began studying to become a nurse while working for a well-known and respected Neurosurgeon at Grant Medical Center.  Some of my life’s best moments and experiences were spent in the medical field but over time I realized my good was robbing me of my extraordinary.

Since I could remember I have always had a unique and creative mindset. After spending some time with myself healing from the loss of my two nephews I realized my gifts could be used along with my knowledge and talents learned in nursing school differently. Seeing other people happy has always been a joy to me and to know I am capable of creating that joy for others is an overflow of happiness and a priceless feeling for me.

My dream was not just about me, others need me. Her husband and children supported my decision to stop Nursing school to pursue a degree in Event Management and Hotel Tourism and start my own business. My husband is my biggest fan, he has provided a foundation for me to dream and said yes to my stretch.

My husband knows that the biggest gift someone can give is their support. He proves his love not just telling me. My commitment to my clients gives them a phenomenal atmosphere to remember is my specialty.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been some moments in my slower seasons that I have questioned if I made the right decision stepping away from corporate. My support system has held me accountable for my busy and slower times. During that time I have learned to take advantage of it and grow and better myself as a business owner.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Most of the time my client comes to me with a date and colors. I can create a uniquely successful event, from logistics and lighting to entertainment, sweet tables, balloons, decor, linen rental, hors d’oeuvres, and much more, ensuring every detail is taken care of.

I know the importance of working hard for every dollar you make. It’s an honor for anyone who chooses to spend their money with me. It’s priceless to me

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I love to collaborate with other companies. The best way to support me is to hire me for an event, referrals to others, and donations. I can be reached at 614-584-1803 or info@andreawashburn.com.
