Check Out Amy Luczak’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Luczak.

Hi Amy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My personal journey with yoga began in 2010 when I found myself searching for something, although I wasn’t sure what it was at the time. I began taking studio classes and I was instantly hooked! Working as a kindergarten teacher at the time, one of my immediate first thoughts was, “I wish I had learned yoga as a kid! I would’ve loved to have these tools to help me regulate my emotions, self-soothe, and have a sense of peace.”

I continued my own yoga practice for the next ten years before taking my first 20-hour Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness training while studying and working in New York City. I then began offering kids yoga as an after school program at the public school I worked for and the response was tremendous! Children and families were very eager for children’s yoga and mindfulness activities. That experience planted the seed for what would later become my business, Bumble & Flow Kids Yoga.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall, the road has been smooth, and I have even been a little surprised with how naturally opportunities came to me once I got the ball rolling. Yet, opening any small business comes with its challenges. Since I am a mobile business, that means that I don’t have a dedicated studio space to offer classes from, so I’ve had to get creative in that regard. I’ve partnered with local libraries, Parks and Recreation departments, the Girl Scouts, and, most recently, with BAYarts to bring yoga to their facilities. I also offer private sessions and have a small number of private clients to whom I provide classes in their homes.

Another struggle has been social media! Nobody tells you when you start your own business that you’re also going to have to become your own accountant, web designer, graphic designer, or content creator–yet I have found myself wearing all of these hats along the way. Creating and maintaining an active presence on social media can eat up loads of your time, and for my business, the return isn’t always worth the time spent. I would rather devote my time and efforts to planning thoughtful lessons and practicing yoga with kids than creating digital content that may not even be seen due to algorithmic limitations.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Kids’ Yoga Teacher, working with children from preschool through high school, though my passion lies with early elementary-aged children. I create gentle, intentional spaces where children can move their bodies, express themselves creatively, and learn how to care for their inner world.

As a kids yoga teacher, I blend play-based yoga, mindfulness, and art to help children feel safe, confident, and connected. Your classes aren’t about perfect poses; rather, they’re about helping kids notice their bodies, understand their feelings, and build tools they can carry with them beyond the mat.

I teach in a trauma-informed, developmentally thoughtful way, meeting children exactly where they are. Through breathing games, movement, reflection, and creativity, I support emotional regulation, resilience, kindness, and self-expression.

At the heart of my work is warmth and intention. I slow things down in a world that often asks kids to rush. I honor rest, curiosity, and growth. And I create community, not just for children, but for families and the spaces I partner with.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
At heart, I am still a 90’s kid who is obsessed with (what we’re now calling) “Old School Hip-hop”. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself when I go from jamming out in the car to peacefully relaxing in a yoga class, but that’s just who I am!
