Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Wood
Hi Jon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I started this business it was just an idea of how to pay bills that I enjoyed doing, that grew into what it is today. I always loved child when my grandparents would take us to thrift stores or antique malls. I guess that really devolved my passion for this job. It most certainly can feel like a labor of love getting started but as years went by I managed to find ways to organize and streamline my business. Once I was able to do that my business started working a lot smoother for me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I like to think of it more as a roller coaster, as long as you understand have a low there will be something better you’ll make it through this business with its ups and downs. I look at it as the this too shall pass attitude, good or bad. The biggest struggles starting out were finical ones. Starting out on my own I had to operate off whatever capital I had as a janitor and doing this on the side. There were many set backs, truck burning to the ground, hijacked shipments, etc. but in the end it has always somehow worked out for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
In my business I buy and resell antiques and vintage items. I travel across the country and also buy here locally as well. I am known for having an eclectic mix of items and span across many different ages and styles. I mainly sell from my website. Besides having such a wide variety of items we also will ship anything listed on our website. I am also very happy that our marketing team, aka me, has been able to reach so many customers.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always wanting to learn and do a variety of things. I really took a liking to history the most. I also always had a side that enjoyed challenging myself to accomplish new things. I rarely ever hand new clothing and preferred the 90s grunge look that 2000 era Goodwills could still provide.
