Ryan Cooper shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Ryan, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My team! I’ve built an exceptional, motivated team at Beau’s on the River. From our hosts and bussers to our servers and bartenders, each team member has been carefully selected for their professionalism, positive attitude, and dedication to providing Top notch guest service. My focus has been on creating a culture where both new and existing staff feel valued, supported, and inspired to deliver their best every day. In a fun family atmosphere! Together, we’re building something special and working toward our shared goal of making Beau’s on the River the #1 restaurant in the Marriott/Sheraton brand.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My Name is Ryan Cooper I am the restaurant manager At Beau’s On The River In Cuyahoga Falls! I’m also the field security supervisor for the Cleveland Browns! I’m currently working on taking the iconic Beau’s On The River to the next level! We have breathtaking views exceptional Service & delicious food! We have been stepping up our game in every aspect including our social media campaign to help share our little secret gem perched above the beautiful Cuyahoga River & Falls. I come from a big hospitality, customer service, security, sales and restaurant background giving me a very unique outlook on the industry. I’ve worked in one of the top resorts in Keywest Florida as well as 8 seasons with the NFL. So I’m trying to take my knowledge and apply it to what we do every day!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
When I was in my early Twenties I spent a lot of time at bars and drinking. I learned a lot about life in those early days what works and doesn’t work in the real world what it ment to kick some ass and how to have mine kicked. I met a lot of people & friends and had a lot of amazing adventures and experiences I wouldn’t trade for anything. But after a near death experience I’ve completely stoped drinking proudly coming up on 8 years sober. Since giving up drinking my career and relationships have reached a new level I could have never predicted in those early days. It is something I am very proud of as I continue to better myself in every aspect of my life from work, family, relationships to my own personal peace of mind.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me a lot I have amazing resiliency to survive the ability to be broken down to completely nothing and rebuild myself over and over better & stronger then before. Once you’ve learned to survive. You take tasks head on with a sense of calmness knowing a lot bigger and tougher things have tried to take you out or stop you from chasing your dreams and you’ve came out on top. Giving me the knowledge that a positive mindset & putting my head down and accomplishing the mission by any means necessary is possible no matter the task at hand!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
That the power of positivity can change the world! I am a very Glass is half full kind of guy and believe that smiling and positivity is infectious. One smile can change the world in a world full of hate I feel like we could all use some more positivity laughs smiles and love!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I believe I am I believe I was born to spread joy laughter and happiness but I also believe I was put here to protect people To stand up For those who are unable to stand up and protect themselves between my NFL Security job with the Cleveland Browns and my role here at the hotel & restaurant. I have been able to stand up and protect a lot of people giving them a sense of security and warmth while still being able to make them laugh at the end of the day! I think my journey is far from over there is a lot more I would like to accomplish and to continue to grow into even more of what I was put on this planet to do!
