Matthew , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently was in Atlanta Georgia for the ISSA awards. I won emerging artist of the year. And that made me very proud.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Matthew Adam. I am a singer songwriter from Southeast Ohio. I write and play my music all over the United States. I’ve won two global music awards, and an ISSA emerging artist of the year award. There’s nothing more enjoyable than seeing a song come to life that you wrote
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believe I was scared to death a quicksand, they really taught that a lot in school when I thought it would affect me. So far I’ve never seen quicksand. So I don’t believe it’s such a scary thing now.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There’s thousands of times I almost gave up. But you’re not gonna get anywhere if you give up. Take a breather walk away for a second, if you’re truly passionate about what you do, you’ll never quit.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes very much so I know different in public than I am on stage. Just a goofball all around.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would hope people say that I made good music and I stuck with it from day one. Then I hope they get drunk memories about me.
