Story & Lesson Highlights with Jaye Nicole Turner of Columbus

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jaye Nicole Turner. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Jaye Nicole, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I find joy in several activities. I love spending time with my family, volunteering, and enjoying my numerous hobbies.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jaye Nicole Turner, founder of Abiding Here Coaching & Consulting Co. and EL’LE Co. Through my coaching, I help women grow in faith, friendships, and wellness, and through EL’LE Co., I empower youth with lived experience in foster or kinship care. What makes my work special is that it’s rooted in my own story and lived experience. Right now, I’m focused on cultivating community and expanding my reach as I strive to help people flourish.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is my relationship with Jesus. My faith grounds me and reminds me of who I am beyond titles, roles, or accomplishments. It’s through Him that I’ve learned resilience, grace, and the beauty of walking in purpose and this relationship continues to shape how I show up as a wife, mother, leader, and woman—it’s the foundation for everything I do.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life have come from navigating abuse, broken relationships, and the challenges of being a young mother finding her way. For a long time, those experiences left me questioning my worth and my place in the world. Healing has been a journey—through my faith, therapy, journaling, and building healthy, supportive relationships, I’ve learned to transform my pain into purpose. Those wounds didn’t define me; they refined me, and now I use my story to help others know that healing and freedom are possible.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is faith, family, and authentic connection. They know I care deeply about creating safe spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported. Whether it’s through my work, my friendships, or simply showing up in everyday life, they’d tell you I’m passionate about helping others grow, heal, and flourish.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, role, and possessions, what would remain is my heart, my faith, and my purpose. At the core, I am someone who loves deeply, believes in the power of God’s grace, and desires to make a difference in the lives of others. Those things can’t be stripped away—they are who I am.
