Ghoul Tarot shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Ghoul , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
I’d have to say that what I’ve learned about my customers is that each one is totally unique. Sounds cliche I know. But doing my line of work (psychic readings & witchcraft) you come to meet so many different kinds of people. And it makes you realize how truly special each person is & their story. Most people come to us witches in times of despair or fear. They need healing, guidance, or change in their lives. And when you sit with a client and get to know them better, you come to understand why & how they ended up coming to you in the first place. You create a bond with your clients just by listening and learning. And most importantly by being there for them at their most vulnerable times.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! My Name is Savannah Rae, aka Saiko Ghoul aka “Ghoul Tarot.” My story begins at a young age. Life was difficult for me growing up. I dealt with things like trauma, abuse, and the foster care system. No matter what I went through I always tried to find the good and the magic within this life. My interest in the occult began at the young age of 11 years old. And ever since then I’ve spent many years studying and learning everything I possibly could about the occult sciences. About 5-6 years ago I started my own business where I could give people psychic readings, spiritual advice, spells, and more. “Ghoul Tarot” was created so I could give back to my community and follow my destiny as a high priestess. Not only do I create witchy & occult content for social media, but I also get to do personal readings and spells for clients all over the world. So far, it’s been an amazing journey. And I’m not even halfway done with my goals yet! Right now I’m currently working on some new projects for my website. Next is my YouTube channel. Most may know me from my TikTok @ghoultarot. But with the state of the app right now and with it being under the constant threat of becoming banned from the US, I’m waiting out the storm to hopefully be able to return to TikTok one day. Without the threat of a ban. I would hate to put in so much hard work just for it all to be possibly taken from me again haha. But education and creating content for social media is a huge passion of mine. And luckily when it comes to the occult there’s a lot to learn, meaning there’s also an abundance of content I can create. The two seemingly go hand in hand. Don’t worry about me or my platforms though. I have many tricks up my sleeve and I can do anything I put my mind too. Just make sure you stay tuned for what I have planned next.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I’d say it was the first time I ever casted a spell as a child. Any witch will tell you that the simplest act of magic can make one feel powerful and in control. Especially your first spell. It’s like coming back to a part of yourself that was lost and is now reborn. It’s moving with the natural cycles of life. Working with the spirits to create a better reality for yourself and others. Bringing woe to those who terrorize the innocent. Speaking with gods as if they are old friends. Heck even the act of meditation itself will make you feel like you can climb mountains. Now imagine meditation plus ritual? Which is what we witches do. For us occultists it’s everything. And It sends a chill down my spine just thinking of the magic and beauty I’ve created for myself and others throughout all these years. It’s truly remarkable what we small humans can do. If only we believe in ourselves.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yeah I almost threw in the towel many times. As someone who struggles with autism, PTSD, & BPD, life can get challenging for me sometimes. Which is why I find it very important for me to always stay as grounded as possible. And I always make sure to check in with myself. Shadow work and healing are very important to me. And it’s helped me tremendously with my mental health. I’ve dealt with hard breakups, addiction, abuse, low self esteem, and much more in the past. Now that I’m older and wiser I know how to better cope with the things that bother me and trigger my traumas. I am however, still a work in progress haha. I’m only human after all.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh yeah very much so. I’m the type of person that what you see is what you get. I don’t sugar coat anything to anyone. And I certainly don’t sugarcoat myself. I’m sassy, sexy, fun, opinionated, & I love cold hard facts. Some people can handle me and others can’t. But those who can will tell you that I’m an absolute sweetheart. I just don’t take crap from anyone. And most people nowadays like to beat around the bush, or put up a front. I’m not like that at all. And to be honest, I don’t care for people who are like that. Be real or get away from me. It’s that simple. Some people are too worried about being seen as “professional.” But baby I’m a witch! You should have known I was crazy when you viewed my profile haha. Always be yourself no matter what!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
Whenever I’m at my altar or in water. I’ll explain both. When I’m at my altar, I feel like I’m invincible. I feel my spirits surround me, as if they’re waiting and watching patiently to see what I’ll do and how they can assist. I feel the magic of the various spells I’ve created and a wave of energy rushes through me as if even the universe is excited for my movements. Sounds poetic I know. That’s because it is. And as for water, it will always wash away my tears, my pain, and my wounds. Water is the element I identify with. She is calm, yet angry. She can heal and destroy. She can give and take. Bless and curse. Water truly is healing for me not only as a witch, but as another soul on this earth. Bath time is always a ritual for me. And the oceans & lakes have always been my friends. Never underestimate the power of water.
