Stephanie Hicks on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephanie Hicks. Check out our conversation below.

Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Watching my kids grow up and become their own person with their own personality

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Stephanie, owner of Willow boudoir in Medina Ohio . I specialize in boudoir for the last 4 years, while continuing my training to become better daily. I truly believe there is always room for growth.
When you hire me, you’re signing up for a full luxury experience! I’ve posed hundreds of ladies of all ages and body types, and I love seeing them leave my studio feeling like the best version of themselves. I totally get it — I’ve been in your shoes, battling my own insecurities and feeling those nerves before stepping in front of the camera. I know how it feels to want to cancel right before walking in. That’s why I strive to create a safe space for you to open up, no matter what’s going on in your head.
And let’s talk about my credentials! I’ve got images published in multiple magazines and models who choose to work with me because I bring the magic. Plus, I’ve had the joy of helping other photographers grow their businesses. When you choose me, you’re not just getting a photographer; you’re getting someone who genuinely cares about capturing your beauty and making you feel amazing.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid, I was always the outcast. I had my small group of friends and really just stayed to myself believing that no one truly cared. As an adult now I have so many women who look up to me,support me and continue to show me that life truly matters and I am making a huge impact on those around me.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely, but I continued to push through for the lives I have changed and made an impact on and realized just how much more of an impact I can make on others.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I stay true to who I am and will scream that from the rooftops.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope those around me continue to talk about the lives I’ve changed. How my heart was big and I made space for everyone around me. I hope the continue to spread the empowerment I’ve created around helping others remember who they are and that other peoples negativity doesn’t matter.
