Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Lane.
Hi Vincent, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start in the fashion industry when I was approached by someone randomly on the street about modeling. At that particular point in my life, I had never considered doing any type of modeling at all. So a friend I was attending college with helped me get my very first photoshoot (thank you Shirinique).
Once the first shoot happened, I started to connect with more and more people in the fashion industry. Learning the ropes of what it takes to become a model and how hard it is to also become one as well. After years of pursuing modeling, I realized it wasn’t something I no longer loved. However, I still loved fashion but wanted to create a platform that would highlight people who are trying to make a name for themselves.
That’s when I came up with the idea of The Garnette Report in 2016. The mission of the media platform was to bridge the gap between those who are up-and-coming and those who were established. From there, I continued to highlight people in all industries and also build shows around that same mission as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running any type of business comes with a long journey, right? I have come across many obstacles while building my platform. Just getting people to believe in what you’re doing, being held accountable for all the decisions you make with your business, and being consistent at the same time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am also starting to get into the fitness industry and help those who are trying to get healthy and become the best version of themselves.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes, 4 books have helped me progress in life The Way of The Superior Man, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, 48 Laws of Power, and Manifest Now.
