Today we’d like to introduce you to Triratna Manandhar
Hi Triratna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started when one of my friends proposed to open a UPS franchise store and asked me to partner with him. I asked him to wait for a couple of months because I was travelling international, and I told him that we can start after I come back. When I came back from the trip, he changed his mind because he didn’t see much earning potential until we open multiple franchise stores. This was back in 2022. I was hooked by then and started researching online. I discovered that opening an independent pack and ship store would give more freedom to dictate the layout of the store and also can have diverse revenue generating model. After consuming different information and resources especially from youtube, and contemplating for over two years, I found out that my full-time job was at risk. That’s when I decided to execute my plan as soon as possible. I started hunting for potential locations and found the current place at loopnet. As of now, we can ship and accept packages for USPS, FedEx, and UPS as an Authorized shipping location. We have notary public and mailbox rentals (physical and virtual). In addition, we have copy, print, fax, and scan services, and we are a neighborhood U-haul dealer as well. We rent U-haul trucks and rent/sell U-haul supplies.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As there is a saying in real estate, “location location location,” find the current location was not a straightforward task. We had to scout and hunt for multiple spots. Negotiations failed for some, and we didn’t get a good response from others. The current spot was suitable as per our budget and also location wise it’s in the intersection of a fairly busy rush hour traffic roads. Since, there is no big retail or grocery store in the strip, we don’t have an anchor store where we can rely on for the foot traffic, and thus, we have had to work extra hard for marketing and advertisement. It took us about a month to complete the store build out and another month or so to get our application approved with all three major carriers.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an immigrant from Nepal. I came to the USA as an international student back in 2007 and since then after making multiple trips back home decided to settle here for a while. I started my professional career as a retail customer service associate at CompUSA, and since then have worn multiple hats as a part-time language interpreter, DevOps Engineer, Uber/Lyft driver, food-delivery driver, and finally as a business owner. When I look back, I am proud of my diverse career and experiences.
How do you think about happiness?
When I make my customer satisfied and happy, I feel different kind of happiness in my heart.
