Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Haney.
Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, my mother owned a dance studio, so movement has been an important part of my life both mentally & physically since I was a child. I continued to dance throughout college, but after school, I tried to find new ways to tap into that grace and peace I found in Ballet. I had tried yoga on and off for years but it wasn’t until about 2014 that something clicked and I realized I couldn’t live without practicing yoga. I fell in love with the way my body felt afterward, the way my mind felt the rest of the day, and the way my heart & spirit felt the more that I practiced. I was incredibly inspired by the flow of Vinyasa, and in recent years have come to love and appreciate the spiritual & meditative practice as well. This is how I came to understand the importance of addressing both mind & body when it comes to overall wellness.
After COVID quarantine, there was (and continues to be) a huge rise in both children and adults suffering from Anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a society, we have become so used to being sick and simply medicating the symptoms and not healing from within and identifying the bigger issue. Studies have shown tremendous improvement when treatment includes traditional therapy coupled with holistic healing methods such as breath work, yoga, and meditation. I saw an immediate need for a one-stop center that can help people go from sickness to wellness and make that wellness long-lasting with ongoing resources for mental & physical health. This way these resources provide the community lifestyle changes to really address the issues and provide wellness support. Also, incorporating spiritual and holistic health options has shown to provide patients with lifelong health and wellness success.
So, one day I was in my kitchen, and everything just hit me! I needed to open a wellness center. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it, but I knew it was important, so I simply had to move forward and make it happen! I hit the pavement, found a place to rent within 2 weeks and took out loans, and have had faith that everything will work out. So far, it has!
I believe that if you truly believe in what you are doing and have a passion for it, other will see that as well, and that energy is contagious. So, I began to rollout my vision, a one-stop therapeutic center for treatment of trauma, anxiety, and other psychological conditions plaguing society right now. We also are working with the community by offering on-site corporate wellness, at-home massage, and private yoga instruction. I have never been so excited to watch such a big dream become reality, but here we are!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The rollout of the business has definitely had its bumps in the road. Originally, I had hoped to open in August, but gutting the space has taken longer than I originally thought! But, we do have an official opening date of October 1st, 2022! I’m organizing a community open house so keep an eye out for our announcement on that as well! Over the summer, however, the postponement of the opening gave us more opportunities to start contracts with several local companies for employee yoga, on-site wellness workshops, and even crystal parties at people’s homes! Now THAT is fun! We have also been attending local vendor shows with our crystals to start to speak with people within the community to make sure we meet needs once we open. So, sometimes the bumps in the road are there for a reason. They open other doors!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I believe that I have a unique vision for the execution of my business. Not only do I have a passion for working with children, but I also have always been a mental health advocate. There aren’t many options for kids around here for mental health programs – so I wanted to offer that…but also make it fun! Sure, I truly stand behind people learning breathwork and meditation, but I also want to get bodies moving! Help prevent injury with workshops specifically designed for athletes, gymnasts, and dancers. We are going to offer a ton of workshops! From “Make your Own Moon Water” to “Chakra Alignment with Crystals,” I am bringing the woo-woo to Strongsville! We will specifically have kids’ workshops, teen workshops, female-only workshops, and even BROga! Yup, men-only yoga!
I have a very strong vision for this place. There will be something for everyone, but I also aim to introduce the main population to learning regular meditation, how breath can work with the body symptoms, the power of crystal healing, and also address confidence empowerment for younger generations. We are not a regular yoga studio with regular classes to attend each week. There are already fantastic studios in the area for people to attend! I wanted this schedule to change day to day and offer a ton of fun workshops and even women’s gatherings, or Goddess Circles! I am going to build a community. Plus, we are offering massage, therapy resources, and even access to nutrition coaches. And we can’t forget the crystal shop! I am VERY excited about that!
What were you like growing up?
I grew up with dance and theater as my main interests. Definitely a child of the arts! And while I was very shy and introverted, I was able to truly express myself when on stage. I loved having that creative outlet & community. I actually grew up in the small town of Wasilla, Alaska, and had some of the best people in my life at that time. It also gave me a huge appreciation for the outdoors and connecting with the earth. I absolutely have to get outside as often as I can!
But I also had a lot of obstacles growing up, which is why I am so passionate about physical & mental wellness. I dealt with bullying as a kid, some sexual trauma, and some things that forced me to grow up quickly and be strong at a young age. As a true Taurus, however, I just didn’t let things ruin me. I owned my experiences and grew from them. I am open about them. I am thankful for them. I really want to open conversations about trauma and offer support in all arenas in my business.
