Today we’d like to introduce you to Stylèon .
Hi Stylèon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Robert Trotter II born in Lexington, Ky but Louisville raised me. I’m the oldest child of 4 from Robert Trotter & LaTasha Peterson, a brother to Brandon, Dais’Ja, Barrye. My beginning was humble but always had a loving supportive family. I’m better known to the public as Stylèon, to say any of this was overnight I would be lying to you all. I started my career out as a Model/Entertainer in 2014 at the age of 19, with my first break shooting a birthday Gala promo video in Indianapolis. While being on set I got to see the tedious work of catching the right angles as well the multiple takes of the same scenario, the process it takes to set up lighting/props and how to executive produce a short film. That day was very pivotal for me now knowing it would help me for future productions. At the time I was still enrolled at University of Louisville, so knowing ideas are cheap but execution is everything! Not long after I wasted no time and pounced on the opportunity to work with the Football team as a Football Video Assistant. When spring training came about in 2015, I bravely made the transition from college after being briefed on its who you know not what you know; if you want to get to the next level as well maintain a relentless work ethic it will get you anywhere in life. I ended up talking to the right people which led me to joining the big ranks to begin work as a Freelancer with ESPN/ACC/SECNetwork assisting with Pre/post-production work. Got my first gig in August of 2015 working the Preseason game of Bengals vs. Giants. I continued to freelance till 2018. By then I felt savvy enough with pre/post-production/behind-the-scenes work. Now it was time for me to start stepping into the Entertainment industry so I used a few connections and got blessed to be a co-host on the radio in Lexington, Ky at the time it was called Grind to Shine. Within that same year seeing the success from the radio gig the idea was mentioned to me to possibly start DJing for my best friend more like my brother BRXTN. Skeptical at first because it’s not good to mix friendship and business…we went head first and now looking back in hindsight we struck the iron while it was hot just right before Covid struck in 2020. We had crowds rocking at Rupp arena, Bourbon music Hall, Headliners Music Hall, some weddings & even a few corporate events. That momentum led us to a 5-city tour with Polo G and company. During the pandemic, I promised myself to go all out on modeling knowing I wasn’t going to come out the same way I went in. Life is all about evolving my parents stressed the fact to become more than a handsome face. Even thought I’m highly intelligent and have a relentless work ethic & an exuberant personality. The last infinity stone I felt was needed was to start eating healthier, exercising consistently with purpose. After using 2021 to make many adjustments and to add to my life’s journey…I dialed back the distractions, maintained discipline and focus when my motivation lacked. Fast forward a year later I look up I’m helping host Posing Clinics, got a couple cameos in music videos, now having the chance to Be one of the few faces Of Playboys 2023 Spring collection and getting recognized enough to get an interview with Voyage.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had more pivots than an NBA player lol. But seriously speaking obstacles are subjective totally to someone’s perspective. Everyone has a story to tell. I personally believe that life happens for you not to you. I’m not perfect by no means but I stayed true to myself and being a good person. I was raised to find solitude & solution(s) to problems. What I can tell you is when I lost both my childhood friends at an early age it helped me develop more of a fatalistic mindset with life. (R.I.H Reginald Price 2014, John Rosenbarger V 2019) If there’s any advice to offer to anyone going through anything follow Parento’s Principle which is 80% of your results will come from 20% of your actions & Master being slow to speak, yet fast to listen. Remain D.A.R.K. (Discipline, Attention to detail, Routine, Killer Mentality.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently working on completing my courses to become a certified Personal Trainer/Nutritionist with NASM. Truthfully speaking, I would like to classify myself as an Entertainer. Being blessed with more than one skill set I feel like I’ll be selling myself short to put a permanent label on me. At the core, I would say im a natural born Hustler. I try dedicate at least 12-14 hours of my time to Work and leave the other 8-10 hours for pleasure. My Personality and voice has worked out a lot in my favor to grace me with many opportunities within the Entertainment industry, there’s so many avenues to monetize off my Name, Likeness, Image the Moon is the limit!!! I’m most proud of the young man I have evolved into and the older man I’m becoming. The four things that sets me apart is my resiliency, charisma, understanding the significance of time & opportunity, & knowing it takes a village to raise child no one is self-made completely.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Dang that’s a hard one, I got so many but the two that I vividly remember is winning the KCSAA Class 4A Basketball State Championship in circa 2012. My Senior trip we traveled to Niagara Falls/Canada, Times Square/New York City, Baltimore, Washington DC, & capped the trip off in Gatlinburg, TN. I’m a country boy who grew up in the city life so to be young and have that exposure and unforgettable experiences opened my eyes and my appetite to want more in life and to strive for more than what’s in front of me and to explore and expand my horizons on this beautiful Earth.
