Rising Stars: Meet Robin McPherson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin McPherson.

Hi Robin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi there and of course! I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where I thrived as a Marketing Director and as a part-time actress/model. I was incredibly blessed to model overseas and joined SAG (Screen Actors Guild) which allowed me to work on productions like NCIS, Two and a Half Men, Desperate Housewives, CSI, etc.

Throughout my adolescence and college years, I attended art schools and individual courses. I participated in art festivals across the West Coast and partnered with Los Angeles shops to sell my artwork and jewelry.

Late 2019, I moved to Northern Kentucky with my husband. Since living here, I have absolutely fallen in love with the Ohio / Kentucky areas. I feel such a sense of home here and cannot believe how long I struggled in Los Angeles when the quality of life is so palpable here.

I am now a licensed REALTOR® with The Lowry Team and continue to sell my artwork at local art festivals/galleries in Ohio & Kentucky.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth or straight road! I have faced countless challenges as an artist, employee, actress, business owner, and more.

Los Angeles was great in the sense that it was my home, and it instilled a sense of urgency to achieve my dreams. However, being able to succeed in Los Angeles or launch new business ventures is extremely costly.

Since moving, I have found that a lot of my time, money, and energy was wasted trying to make ends meet in California. I find so much joy in living here now and appreciate the sense of community. Looking back, I wish I had moved earlier.

Being recognized for your success and published in magazines like this is not a normal practice back home, so I just want to say — Thank you again for featuring me, I appreciate the acknowledgment!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in epoxy resin paintings and decor. All of my work is hand poured and impossible to be replicated.

As an avid beach lover and nature enthusiast, many of my works resemble the ocean, crystals, and geode druse slices. I believe inspiration comes in all forms, but I find myself commonly drawing my artistry from the outdoors and travels abroad.

My artwork is intended to evoke a sense of peace and serenity while highlighting the natural beauty of life. I frequently accent my work with gemstones, shattered glass, and genuine crystals. These elements are known for their healing properties and their ability to bring stability to one’s environment.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m incredibly grateful to my husband for tolerating the messy life of an artist (paintings/supplies everywhere haha) and for helping me load up my car when attending art festivals.

Additionally, all of my friends and family members who have offered kind words of encouragement and supported my work along the way — I’m so very grateful for each and every one of you in my life.
