Hi Rebecca, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into matchmaking began over a decade ago, and it’s been an incredible adventure since day one. I always had a knack for connecting people, so it just made sense to turn that passion into a career. I started small, really focusing on understanding what makes people tick and how to create meaningful connections. Over the years, I honed my skills, worked with amazing clients, and helped form countless successful relationships and marriages.
Currently, I work with Luma Luxury Matchmaking, where I’ve had the privilege of helping amazing individuals find meaningful connections. Being part of such a renowned organization has been an exciting and rewarding chapter of my career. I’ve also had the opportunity to train other matchmakers, which has been a fun. At the core of it all, I love bringing people together and helping them find love. It’s what drives me every day!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—what fun would that be? Like any career, there have been challenges, but they’ve shaped me into the matchmaker I am today. One of the biggest struggles has been managing expectations—whether it’s clients who change their preferences or those who aren’t as open to the process as they think they are. It’s about finding that balance between what someone wants and what they truly need in a partner.
Another hurdle has been navigating the occasional difficult client situation. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and it can be tough when someone doesn’t feel satisfied, despite all the effort. You really have to grow a thick skin and stay focused on the bigger picture—helping people find meaningful, lasting relationships. But honestly, every bump in the road has been a lesson, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s all part of the adventure!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work revolves around matchmaking, but it’s so much more than just introducing people—it’s about truly understanding what makes a person tick and connecting them with someone who complements them on a deeper level. I specialize in luxury matchmaking, and I work with Luma Luxury Matchmaking, where I help successful, driven individuals find meaningful relationships when they don’t have the time to search on their own.
What sets me apart is my personalized approach. I don’t just match based on surface-level preferences; I dig into values, lifestyle, and long-term goals—the things that create lasting compatibility. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve helped so many people find love, but also that I’ve built deep relationships with my clients. I’m not just there for the introductions; I’m there to support them through the entire process.
At Luma, I’ve been able to leverage my ability to read between the lines and see connections others might miss. I’ve even been called a “relationship whisperer” more than once! What I’m most proud of is helping someone find love in unexpected places or shifting their mindset to be more open to new possibilities. That’s when the magic really happens!
How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck playing a huge role. For me, it’s more about hard work, persistence, and being ready for opportunities when they come along. In matchmaking, success comes from truly understanding people, knowing when to push them out of their comfort zones, and staying committed to the process. When things align perfectly, it’s not luck—it’s because of the effort I’ve put in to make sure that happens.
Even when things don’t go as planned, I see it as part of the journey, not bad luck. It’s about learning from those moments and using that experience to make better matches down the line. In business and life, I think you create your own outcomes through dedication and being open to growth.
