Rising Stars: Meet Rayna Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayna Moore.

Hi Rayna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always loved travel, and in my youth, a lot of travel was moving, as my dad was enlisted in the armed forces, and I attended 10 schools by the time I graduated from college. I, then, began to travel while working with various brands as a promotional model and brand ambassador, first, locally and then as part of a national tour. Next, I was able to begin working on internationally traveling theatrical shows with Feld Entertainment’s Disney Live shows. While touring, I had my first foray into travel creation when I created the web series “Hotel Home,” all about life on tour. I met my husband on tour, and we settled in NW Ohio.  I became a teacher and had our first daughter. We quickly got her a passport and began fitting in what travel we could until the pandemic. Then, I became pregnant with identical twin girls, and due to Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, only Baby B survived with numerous medical complications. While getting used to this new normal, I discovered first the monetization of social media and then the travel creator line of work. In May of 2023, I began Some Moore Travel (@SomeMooreTravel on Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook) to share our travels and encourage others to find a balance between couples and family travel. I have now worked with almost 200 brands to create content for their products and services, and I look forward to expanding to work with hotels, experiences, and tourism boards now that we are ready for Some Moore Travel!

Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I love making travel content, and it has helped me to be intentional about planning travel experiences with my spouse, my kids, and my extended family. Though I love my content, it has been slow going attracting followers, which can affect how some brands perceive my work.

Thanks for sharing that. Can you tell us more about your work next?
My background in promotional marketing, touring theatre, and education provides me with a unique perspective, in addition to being a trained actress. I have had the opportunity to perform in musicals, plays, movies (check out my IMDB https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4706752/), commercials, and more!  I have a few bucket list trips coming up that I am thrilled to use my variety of skills and experiences to make content about and share with my followers.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One of my favorite travel experiences was when I went to Houston with my mother (also a teacher) to train like an astronaut. I was able to go to an abbreviated scuba training and complete activities in the pool that astronauts train in, visit the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory and Space Center Houston, and meet and have a Q&A with a real astronaut. This was extra amazing because I am a Star Trek fan, and I was even named after a character.
