Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Ingledue.
Hi Paige, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I can’t say that I was born to be a nurse or knew that I wanted to be one at a young age. However, I am glad that I became one. My initial and main type of nursing career I have had prior to becoming a nurse practitioner was working in surgery. You are a background character in a patient’s journey toward treatment, healing, betterment etc. and they will likely never even remember that you were there because they are asleep during their surgery. Some outcomes are good. Some are not. It is not a field where you should expect to get recognized by patients for being an optimum care giver or for going above and beyond following completion of a survey. The anonymity of your job is unlike much of the nursing field.
I did meet my husband, Mike, while working in surgery. He is a medical sales rep and after years of working together we finally went on a date and hit it off!
After many years of working as a registered nurse I went to graduate school at Simmons University in Boston, MA to become a family nurse practitioner. I graduated in 2018 and have been working in the field of aesthetics since then. I worked at a Medspa in Grandview, OH and then in 2025 started at a different Medspa in Gahanna, OH. Working in aesthetics seems like the polar opposite of working in surgery as far as anonymity. You no longer are a caregiver that people “have” to see. People “want” to see you. My patients have been so supportive following me over the years and I am so thankful to have them. Many of them have even become my friends!
My husband and I welcomed our petite daughter, Sadie Parker, on March 26, 2024 at just under 5 pounds. We are older parents of a 2 year old but we have been enlightened by how fast life passes by when you have a kid. Trying to soak it in as best as we can!
For the purposes of this article, if you are seeking my actual time line of how I got here:
I was born in Cleveland, OH and raised in Shaker Heights.
Becoming a Buckeye and going to The Ohio State University brought me to Columbus.
My first nursing job was at Mount Carmel West in surgery.
I have taught nursing students at the collegiate level and Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
I have my own tutoring business that I have been doing since 2019. I continue to tutor nursing students simply because I love it.
I currently work at Laser Loft in Gahanna as the lead nurse practitioner/injector.
My family and I live in Upper Arlington with our daughter Sadie and our 2 labs, Hanna and Pippen.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? It depends on your perspective. Some people may look at some of the things I have endured and think that it was not smooth. Others may think that it could always be worse. That is where my head is at. I have had my fair share of health problems along the way, but it could always be worse. I’ve seen worse. I know people who have had or are going through worse. I am not the type to treat myself as a martyr. For those that do, I think they lack the perspective on what else is out there that is more ominous. Appreciate what you have and don’t take your health for granted. It is the one thing you cannot get back once it’s gone.
As I have gotten older, I have chosen to surround myself with people that bring joy and positivity to my life. Get rid of the clutter (courtesy of Marie Kondo) and negative energy. It’s not worth it. Life is short!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have a masters degree as a family nurse practitioner. I have specialized in aesthetic medicine. I am mainly an injector and laser operator. I currently work at Laser Loft in Gahanna, OH.
The amount of years I have working in this field gaining experience with different patients, anatomy and techniques sets me apart from others. I have completed a great deal of specialized training through Allergan, Galderma and an intense cadaver course to further grow my injecting safety and skills. I have a large patient following. Some of them I have been working with for over 7 years! With this time duration, I have cultivated close relationships with my patients as we all go through different life stages wether they are ups or downs on both ends. Finding a common bond with my patients has been the best part of my job. You never know what is going to come out of your patients’ mouths! And as my patients know, they never know what I am going to say next either :).
I have also been a nursing tutor since I graduated from my masters program. Without a doubt, this has been my favorite job of all., My students mean the world to me. After working with these students for months, and sometimes years depending on their program, I can’t help to be beaming with pride as they graduate or move onto the next step in their lives and careers. Many of my students continue to keep in touch long after they no longer require my mentorship. My students are all virtual so they are all over the US yet that doesn’t stop them from connecting. I even attended one of my student’s weddings in New York this summer and met her (in person) for the first time on her dance floor yet it oddly felt as if I have met her 100’s of times before. Longest hug ever!
How do you think about luck?
I’m not sure luck has anything to do with my success. I am lucky to have had a good childhood and upbringing that likely helped drive me to be successful as an adult.
I think that some of my health setbacks have been unlucky. I cringe at the thought of filling out a surgical history questionnaire when visiting a new health care provider’s office. But going through the various ailments and surgeries has made me realize how resilient the human body is with its ability to heal. We are tough! The health setbacks have also humbled me so I can appreciate being healthy and strong. Now that I am a mother, I am far more motivated to maintain my physicality and fitness than ever before. At 40 years old my stamina isn’t nearly as high as it was a decade ago but I will keep up with the 5 AM work-outs as long as I need to so I can keep up with my kid!
