Rising Stars: Meet Nathan Noble

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Noble.

Hi Nathan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
In my mid-twenties I found myself stalled professionally. I’d gone as far as I could in my chosen field without another degree, and the more I looked at it, the less I wanted to stay in that field. So, I took a leap of faith and began my journey as an independent artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Self-doubt is always the greatest hurdle. But I decided I’d rather have an occasionally challenging existence on MY terms than a comfortable, complacent routine.

I firmly believe all things worth having taken dedication and work.

That belief has helped me get through more than a few rough patches.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently practice, perform, and teach “Flow Arts” Which is easiest defined as a collection of disciplines (Circus skills, dance, Martial Arts, Fire Performance)

All done as a form of moving meditation. The goal is, to use the act itself as a key to reaching a “Flow State”

My main focus is on teaching these skills to people and building a community based on mutual growth and advancement through the exploration of these arts.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
As much as The Internet has shrank our world and made it possible for me to ask someone across the globe, and language barrier “How Do you do that!?” I’m still a big believer in face-to-face, 3D interaction.

Once I’d achieved a bit of notoriety for what I was doing, people started pointing me in the direction of anyone they thought had a skill I’d be interested in. Or who described their chosen pursuit in ways as I did.

So, my flow arts journey has also been a gateway to exploring everything from music to Traditional forms of Woodcarving.

As long as the person saw a meditative or Inner quality of the act, I was willing to walk their way and see where it took me.

Often times it took me to the same places my Flow Arts did. Just by a different path
