Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Botticelli.
Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Michael and I grew up In Cheektowaga NY outside of Buffalo. As a youth I wrestler under Coaches Brian Hickson and Bert Ernst. After graduation in 1994 I attended the University at Buffalo and graduated in 1998 with a pre law degree. For the next 10 years I attempted to get my IFBB Pro Card in Bodybuilding and moved to Orange County California. I ended up winning the Novice and Overall titles at the 2004 NPC Tournament of Champions in Anaheim. From there I switched sports to powerlifting where I became a 2x NYS and Nevada State Champion in powerlifting. My best lifts were a 765 pound squat, a 584 pound bench press and a 600 pound dead lift. As a personal trainer I enjoyed working with people especially kids so in 2009 I went back to school and received my Masters Degree in History and a teaching license. Moving out to Nevada where the education jobs were was my next move. I have taught junior high, and High School teaching world history, forensics, law enforcement and US history. I have coached girls flag football and varsity quiz team at Doral Red Rock High School where I have been voted most inspiring teacher multiple times.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In wrestling, teaching, lifting and bodybuilding I have encountered many setbacks including a torn pec, hip replacement surgery and many other injuries that occurred. I always stay positive and find a way to keep improving despite the setbacks.
