Today we’d like to introduce you to Meiko D.
Hi Meiko, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my life growing up in the suburbs of San Diego, California. Having moved to Columbus at the age of 17, I struggled with trying to keep up with my college studies and balance at work. By the age of 21, I became interested in staying out all night. I was always the wimpy kid of my family. I overcame a lot of homesickness along the journey. I reached out to other students at Ohio state university who suffered from homesickness. Missing the food and culture of Southern California and having had gone back to the city only once, I understood this was an uphill battle.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggle along the way was my doctor telling me he could help me with a fear of flying. Although making friends in Ohio wasn’t a problem the city tends to be a diverse amount of people. Struggled finding people that were more like me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Art helped me understand my homesickness as I picked up artistic photography as a hobby. It was also very proud work meeting new people
