Hi Lora, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a young age, I have always been passionate about beauty. Faced with a significant decision, I found myself at a crossroads: beauty school or dental school. Influenced by family members who emphasized the challenges of building a clientele from scratch and the various drawbacks of a career in beauty, I chose the more traditional path and pursued dentistry.
However, my time in a dental office soon revealed a deep sense of unfulfillment. Recognizing that I was not living my passion, I made the bold decision to enroll in beauty school, despite the initial doubts and negative perceptions I had encountered.
Today, I am thrilled to be working in the beauty industry. There is immense joy and satisfaction in enhancing a woman’s confidence and contributing to her sense of self-worth. Women often dedicate themselves tirelessly to those around them, often neglecting their own needs. As someone who values nurturing and empowerment, being part of a woman’s journey towards happiness and self-love, even in small ways, is incredibly rewarding.
After graduating from beauty school, I began my career working at a studio for 3.5 years. Over time, I noticed the environment becoming increasingly toxic. I wasn’t being appreciated or valued, which led me to recognize my worth and potential.
Throughout this journey, my husband, my biggest supporter, has witnessed the immense effort and dedication I put into my work. Now, I have the opportunity to channel that passion into my own venture, working independently in my own space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a woman entrepreneur in the beauty industry, I face several challenges that test my resolve and resilience. Securing funding has been one of the toughest hurdles; I’ve encountered biases that make it harder to get the investments and loans needed to grow my business. Building a clientele from the ground up is another significant struggle, requiring relentless marketing efforts, networking, and patience to establish a loyal customer base.
The beauty industry is incredibly competitive, with many established brands and new startups constantly vying for attention. Standing out in such a crowded market demands creativity, strategic planning, and substantial resources. Balancing the demands of running my business with personal responsibilities is also challenging, especially when it feels like there’s never enough time in the day. Managing day-to-day operations can be overwhelming, particularly without a background in business. Scaling my business while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction involves careful planning and resource management. The emotional resilience required to handle setbacks, rejection, and the ongoing pressures of entrepreneurship is substantial. Despite these challenges, my passion for beauty and commitment to my business drive me forward.

I am a beauty entrepreneur. I am a licensed esthetician, specializing in lashes and brows. I enhance women’s confidence and self-worth through personalized beauty services. My focus is on providing exceptional client experiences, tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs and preferences.
What sets me apart is my commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and techniques in the beauty industry. This dedication ensures that my clients receive the highest quality service and the most current beauty solutions.
I am most proud of the positive impact my work has on my clients’ lives. Seeing the transformation in their confidence and self-esteem is incredibly rewarding. What truly distinguishes my business is the personalized attention and genuine care I offer each client. I strive to create a nurturing and empowering environment where every woman feels valued and beautiful.
Building my business from the ground up has been challenging, but the support of my clients and husband, and my unwavering passion for beauty have been the driving forces behind my success. My goal is to continue making a difference in the lives of women, one beauty service at a time.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was quiet, reserved, and observant, traits that have remained with me to this day. I have always been somewhat private, preferring to keep my thoughts and feelings to myself. As a people pleaser, I often focused on making those around me happy and comfortable.
From a young age, I was deeply interested in beauty and aesthetics. I loved making anything and everything look more beautiful than it already was. This passion for enhancing beauty has been a consistent thread throughout my life, ultimately shaping my career path in the beauty industry.
