Rising Stars: Meet Lexie Nause

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie Nause.

Hi Lexie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started photography in high school as an art elective. In college, I studied as my undergrad and thoroughly enjoyed the art. In recent years I have specialized in boudoir photography. The expression of the body tastefully and artistically is beautiful. I love helping my clients feel their best, see themselves in a new light, have confidence, and feel empowered.

I truly believe that word of mouth and personal experience is the most necessary in growing my photography business. Providing a safe and non-judgmental space is important to me especially because a boudoir can be scary or nerve-wracking. I am truly grateful for each person who has stepped in front of my camera and trusted me in their most vulnerable times to create beautiful art.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth having is ever easy. Just like anything there have been mountaintops and valleys, it’s how you grow through them that makes the difference. I have had strangers support me and some of the closest people to me do not support me. If something makes you happy and isn’t hurting anyone, don’t give up on that.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer and specialize in the boudoir. I am known for my dark and moody editing as well as the environment of each shoot. I’d love to say I’m most proud of a specific shoot or picture but I’m truly most proud of the reputation I’ve built of being a safe space for my clients and I believe that’s part of what sets me apart. I am also of great quality for a good price. I think more people would do boudoir shoots if they were more affordable.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I am a huge people person. I connect with my clients, we have a lot of interaction before the shoot even begins which I believe helps them feel more comfortable.
