Rising Stars: Meet Jeff Seats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Seats. 

Jeff, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From school, I began this journey, first starting out by trying new things for my family, then for my community, and now I have had the opportunity to be on National television doing what I love! Honestly, Cooking was not always what I thought I would be doing as a career; however, God placed me exactly where I am, touching other people with my gift! My 7-year-old daughter, Khloe is also the reason, next to God as to why I am where I am today. There have been times when I’ve felt like walking away from “my life” as it is today, but she watches me very closely, and she thinks I’m the best chef in the world, so I have to keep going until I become that just for her. Also, I teach her as much as she can learn about cooking, baking, and business! She has her own dessert business (Sweets by K.Seats), so as I continue striving for greater, I can continue to pour into her and her present and future endeavors. Not only have I used my gift to pour into my daughter, I have also used it to pour into other children as well with my kid’s cooking class, “The Kid’s Table.” This program has brought joy to myself and many others in the past. To have started in my kitchen as someone that barely knew or socialized with anyone, to now be someone that is not only well known, network with people from multiple different cities and states, and to be a blessing to others through my gift is an amazing feeling and testimony. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely NOT! It has been and still is hard! Capital is a big struggle for not only myself but for a lot of business owners, especially today. Being overwhelmed has also been a struggle for me through this journey. It is a lot of pressure in every aspect of what I do, so sometimes it is a lot to handle. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a culinary professional that specializes in multiple areas of the culinary field! I offer private dinner parties, full-service catering for events/corporations/weekly healthy meals preps both for individuals and families/Kid’s cooking classes, adult cooking classes, etc. 

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am 100% a risk taker! The biggest risk I have taken this far has been to quit my job during the pandemic and become a full-time business owner! It was scary. Very scary. However, I did it!
