Hi Eva, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
There are no words to express my passion for baking, just all the love and efforts I put into my work to deliver the best and most delicious cake. To me, there is nothing more important than seeing my customers happy and satisfied.
My journey starts as a passionate accountant, who always loved numbers and data, that’s what I was trained to do my whole life. One day, I realized that I wanted to try something different, I decided to go to a culinary school in Mexico, where I learned different methods of cooking, and that’s where I found my true passion in baking! I decided to become a pastry chef! Oh, and by the way, I’m also a mom of two!
E’S Pastry House has now been born. We offer international pastries, with a high focus on Mexican cakes and traditional sweet bread. Everything is homemade and prepared with the best quality and healthiest ingredients. We are here to bring happiness, joy, love, and a sense of community to our customers. As a Latina immigrant in the U.S. I know what it is to feel far from home, and family. So, that’s my purpose, that’s E’S Pastry House’s purpose, to make you feel at home through our pastries and cakes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is definitely not an easy road. It’s full of challenges, ups, and downs, doubt, insecurities, a lot of things, however, what is rewarding is the fact that we know that we are doing this with a purpose, and that is, to provide a sense of warm and community to our customers who may feel far from their home, or simply when they want to remember good old memories from childhood through our pastries and cakes, and we also want to teach the world about our beautiful Mexican culture. We are a Mexican bakery, and we offer the authentic flavor of the Mexican Pan Dulce!
Me, personally, one of my biggest struggles is the language. English is not my first language, it’s Spanish. Being able to overcome my fear of speaking in another language with customers from all over the world has not been an easy challenge, however, I do what I can to the best of my ability every single day because my goal is to make my customers happy!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
E’S Pastry House is a Mexican bakery founded by myself and my daughter. We specialize in cakes, Mexican sweet bread “Pan Dulce,” and international pastries. We are very well known for our pastel Tres Leches (Tres Leches Cake), buttercream cakes, Mexican conchas, and Alfajores. Within each line (cakes, pan dulce & international pastries) we offer a variety of bread, flavors & designs.
We are the most proud of our brand, and how little by little has been growing and has been gaining brand awareness. We have seen how E’S Pastry House came out from scratch, to be a brand that overtime is gaining reputation. You may wonder how we know this? Well, we know it’s doing well because we listen and care about what our customers say to us. We grow from their feedback and take it very seriously. They word it’s important to us.
What sets us apart from others is our unique concept and our SECRET RECIPE! Our concept is elegant, and modern but keeping the authenticity of the Mexican culture. In addition, we have the BEST and the most BEAUTIFUL Tres Leches cakes in the world, not even in Mexico we’ve seen this concept, only we know how to make a Tres Leches cake elegantly. And, don’t even know what to say about our Mexican Conchas, they are just delicious and indescribable! This recipe has been modified by myself from a very old and precious recipe someone once gave me.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I personally love self-development books and watching videos from YouTube. Some of my favorite authors are Mabel Katz (Zero Frequency), Eckhart Tolle (The power of now), and in general, I study the subject of BioNeuroEmotion, so I really enjoy applying all these learnings into my work and business.
