Rising Stars: Meet Drew Keller of Lebanon, OH

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Keller.

Hi Drew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I didn’t set out to become a financial coach—it kind of found me.

My journey started in nonprofit leadership, where I spent nearly two decades recruiting, training, and supporting hundreds of volunteers and staff across various community-focused roles. Along the way, I developed a passion for helping people grow—not just professionally, but personally and financially too. I found myself constantly guiding friends, church members, and coworkers through money decisions, helping them tackle debt, set goals, and build a plan.

Eventually, I realized I wasn’t just giving advice—I was coaching. So I became a certified Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach and launched Keller Coaching Group. Now I get to walk with individuals and families through the mess and stress of money decisions and help them find clarity and confidence.

Most of the people I coach have great jobs, but not-so-great financial habits. They’re juggling kids, careers, and life goals—and they’re tired of the paycheck-to-paycheck grind. I help them create simple, realistic plans to take control of their money, pay off debt, save with purpose, and build a future that actually excites them.

I live in the Cincinnati/Dayton area with my amazing wife and our four daughters. We’re raising a fun and faith-filled family, and yes—there’s always a little chaos involved. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Whether it’s budgeting with a young couple, helping a teacher prepare for retirement, or coaching a small business owner on how to manage cash flow, I love seeing the moment when someone realizes they can do this.

That’s what keeps me going.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but that’s what makes the story worth telling, right?

Like a lot of folks, I’ve faced seasons where money was tight and life felt overwhelming. We’ve had debt, surprise expenses, job changes, and four little girls to feed and raise (read: buy endless snacks for). I’ve felt the tension between wanting to provide a great life for my family and needing to be smart and intentional with every dollar.

One of the biggest struggles was stepping away from the security of a steady job in nonprofit leadership to pursue financial coaching more seriously. That leap felt risky—and honestly, scary. But I knew that helping people get control of their money and reach their goals was what I was called to do.

It hasn’t always been easy building a business from the ground up. There have been long nights, uncertain seasons, and plenty of imposter syndrome. But every client win—every debt paid off, every savings milestone reached, every “we finally had a budget meeting and didn’t fight!” moment—reminds me why I started.

Struggle has a way of shaping you. It gave me empathy, grit, and a deep desire to help others not just survive financially, but thrive.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a personal financial coach and the founder of Keller Coaching Group. I help everyday people—teachers, nurses, small business owners, young families—get a plan for their money that actually works. Most of my clients are high-potential, high-stress people who have good jobs but feel like their money is going in a hundred different directions. That’s where I come in.

I specialize in practical, personalized coaching that covers budgeting, debt payoff, saving, investing basics, and big-picture goal setting. But more than that, I help people change their relationship with money. I walk with them, not ahead of them. I ask tough questions. I cheer loudly when they hit milestones. And I try to make the process feel less like a lecture and more like a conversation over coffee (or tacos).

What sets me apart? I don’t sell financial products, I don’t judge where you’re at, and I don’t talk over your head. I meet people where they are and help them move forward with clarity, purpose, and a little humor along the way. Faith is a big part of what grounds me, and I often coach clients who want their financial choices to align with their values and beliefs.

I’m most proud when clients tell me things like, “We actually enjoy budget meetings now,” or “For the first time, we feel like we’re on the same team.” That’s the good stuff. That’s life change.

On a personal note, my wife and I once ran a t-shirt business that helped us pay off our debt and eventually our home. These days, we’re slowly launching a side hustle hat company with our daughters—not just for the extra income, but to teach them about hard work, creativity, and what it means to build something as a family.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you’re feeling behind with money, overwhelmed by decisions, or just unsure where to start—take a deep breath. You’re not alone, and it’s not too late. You don’t need a finance degree or a six-figure salary to win with money. You just need a plan, some encouragement, and the willingness to take the next step.

I always tell people: small changes, done consistently, lead to big results. Whether it’s budgeting for the first time, paying off that lingering credit card, or dreaming a little bigger for your family’s future—those steps matter.

And if you ever need someone in your corner to help make sense of the chaos and cheer you on along the way, I’m here for that too.

Also—shameless plug—budget meetings don’t have to be boring. You just haven’t had one with snacks and jokes yet.
