Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAngela Mann.
Hi DeAngela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been driven by creativity and making connections, and these values have influenced every aspect of my life. I juggle multiple roles – I’m a wife, a mom, a model, and a project manager. I’ve figured out how to pursue my passions while still meeting my responsibilities and staying true to myself.
My family is a huge part of my story. Being a wife and mother has taught me so much – I’ve learned resilience, compassion, and the importance of focusing on what truly matters. Watching my family grow while also growing as an individual has been an amazing journey.
Professionally, I’m represented by Heyman Talent Agency as a mainstream commercial model. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding path, allowing me to collaborate with wonderful teams and brands and share my unique perspective through each project. My modeling focus is all about inspiring confidence and encouraging others to embrace their beauty.
Aside from modeling, I also work as a Project Manager Specialist at Strata Decision Technology. This role has helped me improve my leadership and organizational skills, which in turn helps me balance work and family. Finding the right balance has been a fun challenge, but I’ve discovered that with passion and focus, it’s possible to do well in both areas.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been anything but smooth, but every challenge has molded me into who I am today. As a wife, mother, plus-size model, and project manager, juggling these roles can be overwhelming at times. There are moments when it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, and I’ve had to learn to prioritize, let go of perfection, and lean on my support system.
In the modeling industry, being a plus-size model has come with its own unique set of challenges. It can be tough to break through certain barriers or change perceptions. There have been moments of self-doubt, but I’ve learned to embrace my body, my uniqueness, and the growing movement toward body positivity. My focus is to inspire confidence and help others see the beauty in their own bodies, no matter the size.
Balancing my career as a project manager with modeling brings its own struggles. Managing both requires a lot of planning and dedication, but pursuing my passions is always worth the effort. At the heart of it all, my family remains my biggest support system. Ensuring they are taken care of while I pursue my professional goals is a balancing act I’m continually learning, but it’s a journey I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I lead a dynamic life wearing multiple hats! I’m a mainstream plus-size model smashing traditional beauty standards and representing the diverse and inclusive world of the commercial and fashion industry. Working with leading brands, I’m proud to play a part in empowering others to feel confident and seen.
But that’s not all – I’m also a dedicated Project Manager Specialist at Strata Decision Technology, utilizing my organizational skills and creative mindset to lead teams to success. Balancing these diverse roles while staying true to my values has given me a unique perspective, enabling me to approach every project with unwavering dedication.
Juggling the demands of modeling, project management, and my personal life is no easy feat, but with determination, balance, and unwavering support, I continue to thrive in every aspect of my exciting journey. I’m proud of my achievements and can’t wait to see what the future holds as I continue to grow in my journey!
How do you think about luck?
I have been incredibly fortunate to have the perfect blend of luck, divine timing, preparation, and persistence on my side. Along the way, amazing people have played a pivotal role in my journey, starting with my incredible sister Tonia Starr. She’s the one who encouraged me to pursue modeling in the first place, and her unwavering support has given me the courage to chase my dreams.
My husband has been supportive, especially during those adrenaline-pumping last-minute auditions and photo shoots. With his unwavering support, I feel like I can conquer any challenge. At the core of it all is my faith in God, who has been my guiding light through both the highs and the lows, helping me tackle life’s obstacles with strength and grace. Sure, I’ve had some strokes of luck – like being in the right place at the perfect time or crossing paths with the right people. But I truly believe that it’s faith, hard work, and the love of my dear ones that have propelled me forward. Although I’ve faced setbacks and obstacles, I’ve always seen them as valuable lessons, preparing me for even greater things.
