Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Messerschmitt.
Hi Caitlin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For as long as I can remember, I have be a facilitator in some way. I view myself as a guide who makes sure people have what they need to be their best selves. When I lost my job in early 2020, I started to think about what parts of my previous positions I loved the most and what does that translate into for the future? I have been thinking about being a Life Coach for many years, but my own journey and healing kept “getting in the way.” Repeatedly, I would feel like I had reached the top of another mountain, the air would smell and feel different, and I would have energy and capacity again. But as soon as I got there another boulder would come…and clobber me. Through each climb and fall, there were many of my own guides who had helped me along the way. Needless to say, I wanted to take on that role of a guide- like so many had done for me- and be there through others’ climb and falls.
I really love to help people to see their full potential, break through the messiness the world can be, and strive for more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Truthfully, it is sometimes hard to have the patience to let it all of this journey unfold as it needs to. The business is new but the intent has been just under the surface for some time. I am leading with abundance and believe with confidence that what is right for me will always find me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
When I think about the work I am aiming to do with Soul Aware, I think of being a compassion activist. Someone who wants to help people see and give compassion to themselves, to their partners, their parents, and kids…everyone!
With more compassion, we can then get to the reparative questions such as; what has happened to you? How can we support you better? What are the things in your life that need a little alignment?
I think beyond compassion, I am known for my generous heart, my calming nature, and my deep understanding of people.
I have a gift for really seeing people. I can observe what people say but also intuit body language and feel what is just underneath.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I think there is a real treasure to be found in the pockets of nature around the city. For me, nature is what I seek to ground myself. Finding new parks, trails, and waterways in unlikely places around Cincinnati gives me ample opportunities to have the space to regroup, go on adventures with my daughter, and continue to practice giving myself the capacity to take in the natural gifts of the Earth.
