Rising Stars: Meet Brittany Jordan of Central Cincinnati

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Jordan

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
There’s never been a doubt in my mind and my family’s that I would be a star. I was a natural born entertainer and we knew I would produce some great work to the world. After I lost my mom in 2017 to cancer I knew it was time to buckle down and figure out what career path I wanted to go down. I had already unexpectedly lost my father in 2011, so having them both gone at the time made me feel like there’s no one else to save me but me. With that as my driving force as well as the healthy reminder of my Ex Boyfriend Martin always reminding me that I would host my own talk show one day, I created No Strings Attached Podcast. I studied my 2 favorite podcast Angela Yee’s Lip Service and Drink Champs to help me understand the craft and what lane in the field I wanted my show to land on. When we launched in January of 2019 I envisioned a space where woman could let their guard down relax and have a open discussion where the men are allowed into the uncharted world of Girls Night In and share their own perspectives. That is exactly what it turned out to be and more. With the help of a diverse and entertaining crew of host every season has made the talk show a popular form of entertainment and safe space for men and women to share their views of life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wouldn’t be worth it without the struggle because the struggle helps you understand how hard your willing to work towards something. The biggest obstacles I’ve come across is consistency with my crew and editing. It can be difficult to try and convince people of your dream because it’s not theirs. So often times you have to find folks who are at least like minded and want to thrive in the same field to collaborate with. But even still with like minded people it still can be hard to rally up a group of adults for a whole year every week consistently. I can now say I have the perfect team and I am grateful for every co Host who has ever graced our show. As far as editing I have learned to not procrastinate, overload the video with edits, and it’s okay to ask for help when feeling overwhelmed. I myself handle all the editing of the video episodes which can be a lot on one person sometimes which is why the lesson of learning to ask for help is important.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our show is Girls Night in With a Shot of Testosterone. What that means is allowing men into our private space and conversation that we usually would have amongst us girls. We give the real and raw perspectives of men and women from different walks of life on various life topics. What sets us apart are how dynamic our conversations are and the vastly open but different views from each host. We have young adults 25 to more mature host 50 so we can get the well rounded perspectives. I’m most proud of how I had an idea and I made it come to life. That’s one of the hardest things for people in this life to do is to dream and take a leap of faith to achieve, and with the help of my amazing co Host we achieved. I want readers to know that when you listen or watch our talk show to not only just think of some strangers you don’t know having a conversation but to think it’s your own cousin auntie or brother and to join the conversation and let us know your thoughts on the topics discussed. We really want to make it and open forum to have healthy dialogue with our supporters and eventually host live events to personally connect with our audience. We are one big family over here.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to never give up. No matter if you feel like your views aren’t as high as you expected someone is watching or listening. No matter how many co host drop off the show, I have to keep pushing. My cousin Dion told me no monkey can stop my show and the show must always go on! And since we have had that conversation it has really stuck with me. I had to learn what’s for me is for me.
