Rising Stars: Meet Arianna Graves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Graves.

Arianna Graves

Hi Arianna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated college with a fashion and marketing degree, and I couldn’t find any jobs that aligned with my vision or paid well enough. I decided to get into finance in 2017 getting my life insurance license and educating myself on financial literacy. I surrounded myself with successful mentors in the financial industry and started my business Dream Planner financial services in 2018. Someone close to me encouraged me to get my mortgage license since I enjoyed working with numbers. I got licensed in 2019, worked hard to become a top producer at my company, and found my true passion of helping people build wealth through homeownership.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, my job is really really really difficult. It is a white male-dominated industry, and most people do not last in my role for more than a year or so. I take pride in not giving up and being able to accomplish as much as I have as a Black woman and being in the industry for over 4 years now. I have a long way to go and still a ton to learn, but sticking it out has really earned me a lot of people’s respect. The risk to reward is well worth it in the end. Once you get the hang of this, you can be set financially forever, and that’s my ultimate goal. Getting people to trust you with their finances is not easy. You have to being a network of people that will refer you business and earn people’s trust and keep them invested to want to work with you over your competition on a daily basis.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work for a mortgage and insurance broker, but I have my own business that serves as my brand The dream planner. I help people achieve their dreams and educate about financial literacy. I host seminars and real estate courses; I plug people into other financial experts in the real estate and finance industry. Anything I don’t specialize in; I have a referral that does. I have closed over 200 deals in my career, helping people get in a better financial situation, educating them on how to utilize their equity to achieve other financial goals and so on. What sets me apart is that I am solution based. If you don’t qualify, I can put together a plan to tell you how you can make suggestions on how to better your finances and become a more qualified buyer. I will help any any everyone as best I can.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
