Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Kempton
Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I work in Rare Disease Research, and while I love my work, I felt I needed a creative outlet. As I started exploring this, I realized something my family and I have always enjoyed is making candles, thus began Kempton’s Kandles!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always bumps in the road! For me the biggest hurdle are honestly finding good craft show to sell at, and of course maintaining a social media presence! I have had a lot of learning this year!!!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Obviously as the name suggests we sell candles, but I also do both private and public candle pouring events.
For the candles I sell, I use coconut apricot wax and for my candle pour events we use beeswax, it has a shorter cure time which allows the participants to use their candles sooner.
All candles that I sell or at My events are in tin containers, so the individuals can use them once their candle is done or return them to me and get 10% off their next purchase!
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I also have expanded in to selling other homemade crafts, such as macrame owl keychains and epoxy resin bookmarks. Just other fun think for me to make!
