Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Michael.
Hi Adam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I have loved film my whole life and am now living the dream as a full-time filmmaker. I have written 17 scripts, made 11 short films, one feature, a documentary, have been hired to direct projects, and just recently started the Youngstown Film Festival. It took time, patience, and a lot of hard work but this has been the best year of my life!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all! Money is always a huge obstacle, especially when you are doing things solo. Having my own production company, Candid Life Entertainment has been really amazing though as it allows me to take personal responsibility for all my work top to bottom.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
There are so many incredible artists in Ohio, and I have had the pleasure of meeting many of them. I try my best to create a positive, safe and non-toxic environment for my cast/crew. There is a lot of negative stigma about the film world and I am working to change that in the best ways possible.
I love writing and directing but have also discovered it isn’t just about the spotlight being on what I wrote or my direction on set. I just love film and helping other creatives to make their vision a reality as well!

I am so excited to announce I have started the Youngstown Film Festival which will be on February 26, 2023, at Golden Star Theater-Austintown Cinema.
