Today we’d like to introduce you to Zia Williams.
Hi Zia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
From a young age, I became very disciplined. At the age of 4, my parents enrolled me in dance and baton twirling classes. By The age of 7, I was on the competition team competing for titles. I competed til about age 13 and accumulated many solo and team wins. I won one national title in 2009. I would put in a lot of hours a week towards this, and I believe that’s what made my work ethic so dominate.
Once I got to middle and high school, I was a cheerleader, volleyball player, softball player, and a majorette for the band. I was able to achieve eight varsity letters and maintain a 3.5 GPA. Also, throughout high school, I started to really gain an interest in modeling. It was always a dream of mine, but I never really believed I could do it.
I graduated high school in 2018 and went to college to study business. I played a season of college volleyball and engaged in many activities. During my college career is when I started to take modeling serious. I started to invest in different photo shoots to start building my portfolio. Once I had a stable portfolio, I started submitting to modeling agencies. In September of 2020, after many denials, I was offered my first modeling contract with The Helen Wells Agency. I accepted and still work with my agent to this day. Since then, I’ve booked several paid jobs and walked in New York Fashion Week Fall 2021 and Fall 2022. I also have a 2-page feature in Hyer Magazine and been published 4x in Elle Spain, Amica, Bazaar. All while juggling classes and modeling, I decided to partner with the nutrition company I work with- Herbalife to open up my own storefront.
In my last semester of college, I was able to sign a lease for my business. It is a nutrition cafe and fitness studio. In May of 2022, I was able to graduate with my bachelor’s in business administration from Hiram College. I am first-generation college graduate in my family. One month later, I was able to open up my doors for business! It has been a crazy ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it has been a great process. Being a business owner at 22 was a little scary but I didn’t let the limiting beliefs get the best of me. I knew I could do it. I am grateful to have had help and support throughout the endeavors. However, you are always going to run into obstacles. I stayed focused and let my vision and my why drive me.
We’ve been impressed with Warren Ohio Nutrition, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I partner with Herbalife Nutrition and train my clients to help reach their fitness goals!
I’m able to set them up on plans and workout guides!
Having my storefront is just another way to help the community fall into healthier habits and offer and safe and fun space for people to enjoy.
Our fitness studio holds yoga and boxing lessons for kids and adults.
We offer full meal replacement protein shakes, energizing teas, protein coffee, protein baked goods, protein waffles, b12 boosters, collagen, sea moss. probiotics, & immunity shots!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I would say I’m lucky. I believe as long as you put the work in that’s needed and truly believe you can achieve your goals, the universe, God, whoever you believe in will reward you. You get to stay clear in what you want, and you can literally create your own reality.
