Today we’d like to introduce you to Tuezday Henson.
Hi Tuezday, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my tattoo apprenticeship in 2020, but tattooing is a very difficult industry to get into. Not only with a very saturated and diverse community of artists, but lots of shops and people aren’t necessarily ready to take on someone to teach. So after a very long time of trial and error, and years of drawing, I completed my apprenticeship under Brendan Saddlemire in 2024.
I’ve been tattooing professionally at Eighteen Tattoo ever since, where I paint, engrave, and draw almost every day if I’m not tattooing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A career of tattooing is as smooth as you make it, it’s one of the industry’s where if you put your heart and soul into it, you’ll be successful. But if you’re not into it, tattooing won’t work out. I was lucky enough to have support mentally for the hard times, but the drive and motivation had to come from me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist, I specialize in traditional, anime, semi-realism, and lettering tattoos. But I love all styles of tattooing.
I’m not sure what I’m known for exactly, but hopefully if anything else, I’m known for an extremely clean environment and a light hand.
I’m most proud of my progress throughout the years, and I don’t think that progress will ever stop.
I’d like to think my determination sets me apart from most, no matter how long something takes, I will get there.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Keeping my environment sanitized and sterile is probably one of the most important things to me, other than that, I can’t live without my tigers balm hand cream.
