Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Logan.
Hi Taylor, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The Power of Capturing Memories
The search for my purpose began early. Photography, however, wasn’t just a choice, it felt like a calling. My childhood was a whirlwind of moves – a dozen before high school – making it nearly impossible to keep close friends. We weren’t fortunate financially. Reduced lunches, clothes from thrift stores, and the occasional brown bag lunch were all a privilege, and yearbooks came with predatory prices so they weren’t even an option.
Then came my parents’ divorce after 25 years. To help with bills, I was homeschooled during my freshman year, forced to juggle work and academics. Homeschooling fueled my social anxiety, and the constant moves left me feeling perpetually on the outside. To top it all off, I had no childhood photos to salvage any memories.
“Your calling is whatever you fear or what frustrates you the most,” Jordan B. Peterson once said. These words resonated deeply.
Relevant to today and the path I decided to take, I had a surgery on my hand that forced me out of work for six weeks roughly two years ago.
It was during this downtime that I picked up photography not only as a form of therapy, but as a passion of mine.
I became consumed by it, driven to make it a part of my life, and obsessed eith thr technical aspect of creating an image. Now, despite coming from a broken home, I proudly pursue that passion as a wedding photographer, capturing memories for couples embarking on their new chapters together!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My mindset: I’m a strong believer in “good things come to those that work hard for what they want.” It has not been easy, it’s a priority. that’s the sacrifice I’m willing to make to put me where I want to be in the industry.
Attitude is everything!
“You are the product of your thoughts, you become exactly what you think about 99% of the time.” – Jim Rohn “The Best Life Ever”
