Meet Shane Stout

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Stout.

Hi Shane, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story has a lot of twists and turns. In 2011 I began a summer job as a lifeguard at Geauga Lakes Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora, Ohio. This started a whole new journey that I never saw myself taking before. Wildwater Kingdom laid the foundation for everything that has unfolded in my life. From lifelong friends, memories, connections and even meeting my wife in my 4th year, that Waterpark set the tone for it all and I will be forever grateful for the time I spent there. By my second summer at the park, I had been promoted to Lead Lifeguard and then Department Supervisor. I stayed with Wildwater Kingdom until I graduated from Bethany College. After graduation, I knew I had to move on and try to find full-time work in this industry that I had fallen in love with. So, I found myself in Sandusky as a full-time training manager at Great Wolf Lodge where I would spend the next 4 years while I also completed my Masters Degree in Business from Ashland University. Looking to advance my career I made the jump next to Splash Lagoon in Erie, Pa. For the next two years I was finally in charge of my own Waterpark. At this point, however, I knew my time was coming to an end. My passion for waterparks was ending and I knew it was time to move on and see what else life had for me.

I’ve always been a fitness enthusiast, and on the side, I had collected a number of personal training certifications as a hobby. While living in Erie, I found a company called Axe and Sledge Supplements and became a member of their affiliate program, The Demo Crew, which I have been an active member in ever since, rapidly growing my social media page. Promoting their supplements and their brands, helping their organization grow. I knew now it was time to take that passion and try to do something with it. So, I moved back to Akron and began working at LA Fitness (Esporta Fitness). I spent about a year with them, and due to various circumstance, had to leave.

Finally, we get to today, through a connection I had made, I was given the opportunity to take the skills I had developed over the years and use them for myself. From management to social media to customer service skills and sales skills, I now work at Serra Chevrolet in Akron, selling cars for a reliable brand and running my own business in a sense, promoting myself how I see fit, handling my clients the way I know I should, and growing my brands both in cars and within Axe and Sledges Demo Crew.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest challenges came from adapting to new environments over and over. New employees, new personalities, new cities, but each time I won them over, showing them that I was someone they could depend on and put their trust in. The road was for sure a bumpy one, but I believe the ongoing support from my wife and the experiences I had all set me up to be in the position I am in today, using all the skills I obtained over the years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
1. Axe and Sledge Demo Crew: The Demo Crew is my second family. It is a group of like-minded individuals all with the same mindset and views, held together by a common goal, to be the best, hardest working version of ourselves possible. My job is to promote their company, products, and brands through word of mouth and social media. To help grow the company and live my life the way we preach, by being the hardest worker in the room. Since joining the Demo Crew I have accumulated over 100 new client sales including several repeat customers and become one of the groups most senior members, being one of the first to join the program after its creation.

2. Serra Chevrolet: At Serra, I take my years of management skills, social media skills, and business skills, as well as the Axe and Sledge mentality, and essentially run my own car sales business. I grow my social media presence and advertise out cars to the public. I also pride myself in being able to give all my clients the best experience possible, through great customer service and honest sales. There is no underhanded tactics from me, no high-pressure sales. I can relate to my clients, which helps them trust in me and know I am going to make their experience a great one.

Any big plans?
In the future, I want to move on to Elite status within the Demo Crew. I live every day as the hardest worker in the room, I stand by the companies and I want that to continue to show. I want to see them grown and me grow with them, moving on to Elite and hopefully one day be considered an Axe and Sledge Athlete.

Within Serra, I want to continue growing my personal brand, expand my social media presence and have a following that knows, if they want superior, honest service, I’m the one to come to. Ideally, this will translate into me growing into the role of store manager down the line where I feel I truly shine.
