Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Strawser. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Beanz Buttercream Bakery is owned by Sean and Kristi Strawser. The bakery was named after their daughter Corynna who passed away at the age of 16 years old in 2013. Her nickname was “bean”. Several years ago, Sean and his daughter Corynna began making cupcakes at home. The cupcakes were made from scratch.
They began selling them at home and quickly became popular in the community. Sean had been working in the manufacturing industry for 25 years and was ready for a change and to follow his dream of opening a bakery. He took a leap of faith and opened Beanz Buttercream Bakery in 2019. Beanz Buttercream Bakery has been wildly successful, and Sean is having the time of his life living out his dream.
The first location in downtown Greenville was a small storefront. The business quickly outgrew the space and the Strawsers purchased a large building downtown and renovated it. They opened the new location in May of 2022 and have added a full-service breakfast menu.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The Strawsers have learned a lot since opening their small business. All of the baked goods are made from scratch and never use mixes. This type of baking takes time. Quality is important at Beanz and they gradually have expanded their offerings slowly to ensure they do not compromise quality. They have added staff to their team to be able to offer more products. Learning all of the aspects of small business ownership has been important to the success of their business.

Beanz Buttercream Bakery and Eatery specialize in baked goods that are baked fresh daily and made from scratch. The bakery never uses mixes or premade products. As the generations change people become busier and busier. They want fresh, made-from-scratch baked goods but don’t have the time to prepare them.
Our bakery does all of the work for them and offers fresh products daily. The bakery offers many items including cheesecake, cinnamon rolls, cookies, muffins, cakes, bread, and so much more. The full-service breakfast has followed the same specialty and uses all fresh ingredients. Beanz introduced breakfast appetizers to the consumers and rotates featured items weekly to keep the menu exciting.
Quality and customer service are very important to Strawser. Beanz Buttercream is now venturing into catering and the new location offers an event room for rental. It is perfect for birthday parties, baby showers, work parties, bridal showers, holiday parties, wedding receptions, and so much more.
