Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Walker.
Hi Samantha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started modeling at a very young age. As I grew up, I realized I was suffering from anxiety/depression. I decided to use my platform to discuss the importance of mental health awareness. I believe in always being transparent and sharing my healing journey through blogs, photos, and videos. Today I am still modeling, hosting events, blogging, and expanding into new territories. I aspire to write books for the everyday woman trying to navigate through social media while dealing with everyday challenges.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has never been easy. I struggled with my weight and self-esteem issues throughout. I dealt with severe depression. My ongoing battle with panic anxiety disorder caused me to break away from what I loved doing which was modeling. I lost my dad in 2016 and then my mom in 2020 both from Cancer; 4 years apart. I also struggled with finances and becoming a blogger without all the fancy clothes that other content creators had. The most valuable lesson I learned is to never stop believing in yourself. Having self-confidence is half the battle. Once you start believing in yourself, that energy will radiate and spread.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I model, blog, create content, and host events in Cleveland. I specialize in being a charismatic, funny, honest hostess. I am entering my 9th year as an event host. I also love to write blogs from my POV in regards to dating, mental health, beauty, and much more. I am most proud that after so many years of being rejected in the modeling industry that I am still here and continuously improving. I am unique seeing as I am one of the only plus-size female hostesses in the city. I am honest, creative, and bring freshness to all the events I host. My refreshing energy is unlike anyone else’s.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Humility is always a characteristic that comes to mind. No matter how much I accomplish I always respect the art and try to pay homage to those who have supported me throughout the years. Always being mindful and grateful for every opportunity that comes my way. I will forever be humble and my authentic self.
