Meet Rhonne Lewis of Brunswick

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonne Lewis.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was a young girl my mother would always come home from the salon and hated her hair. I remember how it made her feel. I wanted to change that.

I started my journey in the beauty industry training with the best Italian and european designers.
After several years of hair design I expanded my skills into skincare, waxing and reflexology.

After 30 years in the industry I noticed a disturbing consistency in my clients hair and the change in products that no longer delivered the results I was accustomed to.

I decided if I was going to stay in the beauty industry I needed to go Organic and stop the assault of chemicals harming my clients.

I opened an Organic hair and skin studio 15 years ago and never looked back.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The bar was high and the field was narrow in Organic hair color.
It took me.3 yrs to find a truly Organic hair color. An arduous task it was but I was determined if I was to return to do hair it wasn’t an option.

I stepped away from the chair during this time and focused only on skincare and waxing till I found the perfect product

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in organic haircolor and precision hair cutting.

Considering all the facets that embrace a beautiful result.

Whatever service I perfom, I consider the whole person and the natural path.

In skincare i use micrcurrent to retrain muscles to restore a youthful appearance.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Starting my own business was a matter of standing up for what I believed in. Embracing fears of not being able.to continue to work in the industry I came to love outweighed any other obstacles. That being delivering a service that wasn’t assaulting my clients with toxic products in the name of beauty.

Only 4% of salons use organic hair color. Most offer the ammonia base still but I decided to go all in..

Definitely exciting time.
