Today we’d like to introduce you to Quincy Big Heff Taylor.
Hi Quincy Big Heff, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started as an intern for Bone Thugs & Harmony, got introduced to the Shady Records Family from Big Proof of D12, Started the Ohio Hip Hop Awards in 2006, became the VP of the Nerve DJs in 2010, and Did some work at Epic Records, then worked at Def Jam Recordings and got my first Gold Plaque from Jeremih Late Nights Album. Started the Streets Most Wanted Tour in 2014 and featured some of the great on my tour, Lil Baby, Megan The Stallion, Tee Grizzley, TK Kravitz, Hardo, YK Osiris, Ty Bri, & Sleazy World Go. In 2015 was presented a Lifetime Achievement from Ohio Hip Hop Awards. In 2020 won the “Icon” award from Ohio Entertainment Awards. In 2021 received the SEA Impact Award and Hennessy “Midwest Legend” Award. In 2019 Started “Capital Structure Ent” the home of DJ Ryan Wolf & Ty Bri.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggle was to keep going at the beginning when the results were few and far between. Once you find yourself and find your goal and get people to trust your vision.
We’ve been impressed with Capital Structure Ent, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It’s a boutique label and entertainment company. I just shot my first film which will be released Sept of 2022. I’m working on a couple of television shows. We have a new project on DJ Ryan Wolf dropping in August 2022, a new mixtape from Ty Bri getting ready, singles from Alylah Divine, Ysn Marlo, and a Big Heff project slated for this year.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My favorite quality is vision and consistency. I feel they are both necessary to be great in this music industry and in life. My goal is to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for playing my role in shaping so many careers throughout my career.
