Today we’d like to introduce you to Paid Leave
Hi Paid, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In may of 2023, A few of us decided to get some like-minded people together and make music. We started out in a garage just playing rock & roll covers, trying to get whatever gigs we could. Tired of waiting around, we financed a PA system and booked our first show at a memorial day party. From there, we continued to practice hard and eventually got our foot in the door at a few local venues. Since our days of garage-rocking, we’ve written original music and played anywhere from Prebble County to Cleveland. We are currently gearing up to record our first EP.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest thing is getting all five of our bandmembers in the same place to practice and play. We are all in school and work, so music just adds to the hustle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We like to label our music as ‘Midwest Americana.’ It combines a number of influences from blues to folk and roots rock. Our band is comprised of two guitar players/singers, bass, piano/organ and of course drums. We like to think we are known for our high energy live performances and difference from sound compared to other bands in our age demographic. We are most proud of our small but dedicated home following who continue to support us with each and every show and doing this all with a do it yourself mindset.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
In the very near future we will be releasing our first EP on all streaming services. This is the first time anybody who hasn’t been to a live show will have the chance to listen to our original music. We are extremely excited for the opportunity and are booking shows for this upcoming summer as well.
