Meet Nicole “Nikki B” Hutchins of CLEVELAND

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole “Nikki B” Hutchins

Hi Nicole “Nikki B”, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
This is an interesting story really…as I navigated the field of Healthcare Administration, the field of Hospitality, and Financial Services. Following my passion of helping and encouraging people and following my purposeful assignment the opportunity was presented to me to start a Podcast, TV, and radio show.

So I said yes let’s do it!

I then found my footing in the media and entertainment industry hosting, public speaking, and moderating. For a time I was the Creative Director for Focus Media Productions and currently the Executive Producer and creator of VIP w/ Nikki B – Where we see the victory in people but most importantly, we want you to see the victory in yourself. I created this space and media platform committed to delivering innovative content through engaging interviews and compelling stories that inspire and motivate you to unlock your full potential. (Honestly as I type this I am realizing just how much this was created for me).

I’ve had the opportunity to moderate and host numerous live events and audiences of all sizes from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences. Remaining grounded, open and passionate about giving back to my community and society. Off stage and off the air I continue to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators and creators. I also love to give back to my community by participating in charity events and fundraisers to support various causes.

Today, I continue to create and take action with projects such as FutureLand 365 Radio and Podcast Show, which you can listen on WOVU 95.9 Friday’s at 1pm and YouTube @Futurelandcle. I am committed to pushing the boundaries of the gifts, talents, and skills God has given me. My goal is to be a positive force and leader in my community and industry as I continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of everyone I meet.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve found in life that struggles are a sign of growth. Actually, did you that if you help a butterfly out of its cocoon that it’s wings will not be strong enough and it will die. That tells me that we need conflict, challenges and obstacles in order in grow and elevate to the next chapter or new level in our life.

Here a couple of those struggles I experienced on this road of life personally as well as in business.

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: Transitioning to an industry I knew nothing about has lead to feelings of inadequacy, especially if when felt I lacked the credentials that others possess. The key to overcoming this challenge was to continue putting in the work, practice, taking action. This creates consistency and builds confidence and denounces those thoughts of Imposter Syndrome.

Financial Stability: Starting in media has not provided immediate financial stability, especially transitioning from a “steady” paying job in healthcare, hospitality, or finance. This has created stress and uncertainty. Although I have experienced financial instability at times, I was able to leverage networking and build relationships with individuals who have shared creative ways to generate income or create other income streams. This has made a huge difference in my creative flow where I no longer have to be concerned with how this will be paid or how this will be taken care of.

Perfectionism: The pressure which is usually from myself, to have things done perfectly and to take on all the things myself. As if there is no one that is more experienced with this or that thing. This has lead to burn out or stress without me being aware. So I’ve learned that finding my rhythm, and collaborating with others, are keys to help elevate stress and keeps my in the flow of creativity. In order for you to elevate you have to collaborate is what I found out in this challenge.

Overall, while striving and thriving along the way it is beneficial to finding the pocket of flow and remain flexible is crucial for long-term success and well-being in the media industry…well really in life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the founder and creator of VIP w/ Nikki B a media platform dedicated to providing you with innovative and captivating content that inspires, motivates, and uplifts. I do this by engaging interviews, compelling stories, and expert insights, I aim to ignite your inner drive helping you unlock your full potential and achieve personal victories. The interviews are held via podcast, radio or red carpet style.

I am known for my engaging warm, pleasant, kind personality and I light up any room I enter, well so I’ve been told. I am most proud of being kind, relational, non conforming (especially on my value), being creative, and having a business mind.

What sets me apart from others is what My Father told me below:

Deuteronomy 14:2 “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth”

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Each of these scriptures remind me whose I am and who I am and that I am set apart no matter where I am or what I am doing.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My Mother because of her resilience and people skills, Both of My Dad’s for their intelligence, and wisdom, My Grandmothers for their sass and class. All of my brothers and sisters for cheering me on and believing in me even when I didn’t. There are also Local business owners whom I have watched and are inspired by as well such as, Natural Pretty Hair, Callie’s Candles, TaylorMade Catering, The Serene Counseling, PowerBrand, Mas Larae, ND Miller Publishing, LDA Media Company, LOKUL, Ruthie’s List, Pink Party Retreat, Pink and Black Honors, Confident and Nervous (Sam Walks), 1,000 ties (Jowan Smith) Carmen Hall, Personal Growth Coach and WOVU 95.9 radio station.
