Today we’d like to introduce you to Mya Tipton
Hi Mya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I wanted to pick a career that would allow for a future where I could dedicate time to my future family/children along with a career I know I’d have strengths in. I am the type of person that works best for myself in a sense. For example, I’ve served since I was 15, and I know the effort I put in reflects on what I make. Realty is similar where the relationship and efforts I make reflects on how successful I may end up. That being said, my senior year, I ended up getting all my real estate certificates through Sinclair leading to me graduating in 2024, being able to take the OH Real Estate exam.
I took that test once and failed both portions by only a few questions and turned around 2 months later and passed both. I am now a Realtor under IronGate Inc., Realtors, and work at the Springboro office.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Just like with most anything there were definitely some bumps in the road.
1. Failing the first Exam and trying to not be discouraged
2. The start up process of becoming a Realtor. You have to build your own business! (having no clientele)
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Realtor. I represent buyers and sellers, hopefully making a very big purchase and process a little bit easier.
I’m proud of the fact that I entered this career at such a young age and the way I’ve expanded my comfort zone while starting up.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The Miamisburg area is a great place to live. I love the downtown small shops, ice cream, and coffee, and all the great walking/hiking trails around. Along with that, there is the convenience of great neighboring cities!
My least favorite part of Miamisburg is probably the lack of small-town feel. It has grown a lot in the past few years as a city, which is great but also is much different.
