Meet Meghan Rosbottom of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Rosbottom.

Meghan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Concord, Ohio, and after spending my college years at Kent State University, I returned home to put down roots in the community I love. I graduated from Kent State in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and began my career in the banking industry, where I worked my way up to becoming a Private Banker.

While I valued my experience in banking, I always had a passion for the beauty industry. About five years ago, I made the decision to pursue that passion full-time while also creating a career that offered more flexibility for my growing family. I joined a well-established local salon, completed their apprenticeship program, and spent several years refining my skills through advanced education and hands-on experience.

About a year ago, I took the next step in my journey and launched Refined By Meghan inside Luce Del Sole Studios. Today, I’m proud to own a business that allows me to combine creativity, meaningful client relationships, and entrepreneurship while serving the community I call home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road worth traveling is ever completely smooth, and my journey has certainly had its challenges. Looking back, though, every obstacle has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Making the decision to leave an established banking career for an entirely new industry was both exciting and intimidating. I had built a successful career with promising opportunities for advancement, but I knew pursuing my passion would be worth the risk.

At 27, I went back to cosmetology school, where I was one of the oldest students in my class. I completed my education during the COVID-19 pandemic while also becoming a first-time mom. Balancing school, family, and the uncertainty of that time wasn’t easy, but it reinforced the importance of resilience, adaptability, and staying committed to my goals.

Those experiences have shaped the business owner and stylist I am today. They taught me that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone, and I’m grateful I chose to keep moving forward.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I offer a full range of hair services, including color, precision haircuts, and styling for clients of all ages and genders. While I love the variety my work brings, my specialties are bridal hairstyling, natural makeup, and precision cutting.

I’m a very intentional and detail-oriented person, and that naturally influences the way I approach my work. I enjoy creating looks that are thoughtfully tailored to each client, whether it’s a haircut designed to grow out beautifully or a bridal look that feels timeless and effortless.

I’m especially known for working with brides who love soft, romantic, and whimsical hairstyles. My makeup style is natural and refined, making it a great fit for clients who don’t typically wear much makeup but want to feel like the best version of themselves on their wedding day. My goal is always for someone to look in the mirror and still see themselves—just a little more polished and confident.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Whether they’re visiting for routine maintenance or one of the biggest days of their lives, I strive to create an experience where they feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for. I believe that combination of technical skill, attention to detail, and building meaningful relationships is what sets me apart.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our community—and Northeast Ohio as a whole—is the people. It’s a hardworking, resilient area, but it’s also incredibly supportive and welcoming. I spent several years working in downtown Cleveland, and I often joke that my corporate career and the people I worked with really “raised me” professionally. They taught me so much about building relationships, serving others, and showing up with integrity.

Concord and Mentor have always been home for me, so being able to build my business here feels especially meaningful. I love that our community genuinely supports local businesses and takes pride in helping one another succeed. It’s something I don’t take for granted, and I’m grateful to now be able to give back to the community that has given so much to me.
